The Studio Barn is a charming barn conversion with stunning views over the Severn Estuary and Cotswold Hills beyond. Situated on our 8acre small holding, across the drive from the owners who reside at Silverwood House, the barn offers a perfect blend of comfort and tranquility, making it ideal for couples or small families alike. Escape to this charming location, within 10miles of the historic Tintern Abbey, where the enchanting Forest of Dean meets the picturesque Wye Valley. The space The Studio Barn has been lovingly restored by the owners. The barn can best be described as a simple, stylish, rural retreat with glorious views and walks from the door to local pubs and countryside. But we do not accept pets. Check-in days are Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat and Sunday. We are conveniently located just off the A48 in Woolaston, in a secluded location 3 miles south of Lydney, Gateway to the Forest of Dean:- Chepstow, Monmouth, Abergavenny, Brecon Beacons and Cardiff are to the West, Cheltenham and Gloucester to the East, with Bristol and Bath slightly South are all within easy access by car or train. On entering The Studio Barn, a lounge area with log burning stove stacked with logs awaits. Sink back into the cosy leather sofas in front of a roaring fire after a long days walk with a cup of hot chocolate and read a book or watch a movie on Netflix or Disney+ Look to the right where you will find an open plan kitchen, dining area, with induction hob and all the mod cons, including a dish washer. Upstairs an open to rafters bedroom beckons with a super king sized bed, recycled furniture has been restored and updated. Enjoy the drench shower over a double ended bath and be treated to illuminated mirrors over your very own wash basins in en-suite. To be in keeping with the open nature of the barn we have used a curtain as the door into the en-suite. There is a lovely area fenced off with roses from the main garden just across the drive opposite the Studio Barn which guests can use for alfresco dining or to site and gaze at the view with a glass of wine. Views are splendid and wildlife is everywhere. Throw open the barn door and you maybe lucky enough to see pheasants roaming across the drive. Watch buzzards and sometimes red kites soaring high above, foxes playing in the fields, occasionally a Heron has been seen as well as a snowy White Barn Owl and tawny Little Owl. Whether you're seeking adventure or relaxation, our serene and scenic setting offers the perfect base to discover the beauty and tranquility that is around us in the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Guest access The hosts have sectioned off a part of their own garden for the use of guests only. It is just across the drive from The Studio Barn. Please do not use the hosts private garden. Cars can park on the drive infront of the Studio Barn. Other things to note We do not allow pets. Due to its rural setting, arriving by car is recommended. During the winter months (Sept-May) we supply the first basket of kiln dried logs. From then on, if you require more logs you can either purchase them from us at £10 per basket or alternatively Tesco currently (Oct 2024) sell them for £11 per bag.
