Inside, guests will find a fully stocked kitchen, compact yet comfortable living area, and inviting bedrooms. Outside, there’s a spacious front and backyard, great for kids and outdoor fun, plus a fire pit and picnic table for evenings under the stars. Owned by a Hartland native who still visits often and is happy to provide local insight to help make the most of your stay. Close to local gems like Spicer Orchards, Kensington Metropark, and Ore Creek Craft Cidery. Just 30 minutes to Ann Arbor and under an hour to Detroit, this peaceful retreat is the perfect blend of nature and convenience. Guest access During your stay, you'll have exclusive access to the entire house, offering spacious and comfortable accommodations for your group. Other things to note Lakefront - Bugs Because the home is located on the lakefront, we have limited control over the natural bug activity and their hatching cycles. However, please rest assured that the home is regularly treated for pests and insects. Dogs - if approved If you are approved to bring a dog please kennel or take your pup with you when you leave the home. We cannot have sad, lonely barking dogs bothering our neighbors. Please be considerate and clean up after your pet. Kayak Use Instructions – Handy Lake 1. Safety First • A U.S. Coast Guard–approved life jacket must be worn at all times. • Make sure you are using the correct size life jacket for your weight and size. • If we do not have one that fits properly, you will need to provide or purchase your own before kayaking. • Children must always be supervised by an adult. • Kayaks may only be used during daylight hours and in safe weather conditions. • All guests must follow Michigan boating laws. 2. Using the Kayaks • Kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are provided for guest use. • Launch and land only at the designated Handy Lake access. • Lift kayaks when moving them, do not drag them over rocks, pavement, or concrete. 3. After Use & Storage • Rinse off kayaks and paddles to remove sand, weeds, or dirt. • Store kayaks on the racks located on the side of the shed, ideally upside down so leaves and debris cannot collect inside. • Life jackets should be hung to dry. Once fully dry, they may be stored inside the shed. If still damp, please leave them hanging to air out. • Ensure paddles and gear are returned to the shed and secured. 4. Rules & Responsibility • Kayaks are for registered Airbnb guests only. • No alcohol, drugs, or reckless behavior while kayaking. • Use at your own risk. By using the kayaks, you accept responsibility for your safety. • For questions about permitted times or specific lake-use rules, please defer to the HOA rules posted at the Handy Lake access. 5.
