⛰️ Cozy Apartment in the Heart of Berlevåg – Near Sea, Museum & Lighthouse Welcome to our warm and inviting apartment, located in the charming fishing village of Berlevåg, in Norway’s Arctic northeast. Whether you’re here for northern lights, fishing, hiking, or just to experience real arctic life — you’ll find everything you need for a comfortable stay. Perfect for solo travelers, couples, or adventurous friends exploring Finnmark. The space 🛏️ The Space The apartment reflects the raw, minimalist charm of the Arctic itself — practical, simple, and made for real living in the North. • A bedroom with a warm and comfortable double bed • Functional kitchen equipped with essentials: fridge, kettle, coffee maker, stove, pots, pans, cutlery, and cooking tools • An additional single bed, ideal for a third guest or child • A clean bathroom with a shower • A separate storage room where you can keep outdoor gear, luggage, or supplies The space is intentionally modest — just like life in the Arctic: no unnecessary frills, but everything you need to feel grounded and at ease after a day in the wind, sea air, or snow. Guest access 🏠 The apartment is located on the basement level of our home. My husband, our dog, and I live upstairs, so we’re nearby if you need help — but your space is private, quiet, and has a separate entrance. 🗝️ Self check-in is available via a key box, so you can arrive at your own pace. 🚗 If arranged in advance, we’re happy to pick you up from the Hurtigruten port or Berlevåg Airport, depending on timing and availability — just let us know before your arrival! 🌟 What to Do in Berlevåg (Local Guide) Even though Berlevåg is small, it offers a unique mix of nature, history, and Arctic culture. Here’s what not to miss: 🏛️ Sights & Attractions: • Berlevåg Museum – Discover the history of the village, WWII stories, and life in the harsh Arctic. • Kjølnes Lighthouse – Just outside town, with stunning views of the Barents Sea. • Hurtigruten Ships – Catch the daily arrival of the legendary coastal steamer. • Breakwaters – Take a walk on these iconic wave-blockers that protect the harbor. • Molvik Valley & River – A short drive away, this peaceful area offers a beautiful arctic river, ideal for a quiet nature walk or a picnic. 🥾 Nature & Outdoor Activities: • Perletur Trails (Perle ved Havet) – Berlevåg is part of this scenic hiking program. Follow marked trails through raw coastal nature, rocky beaches, and tundra landscapes. → Great for all skill levels, with beautiful photo opportunities. • Northern Lights Viewing – From autumn to spring, enjoy spectacular auroras due to low light pollution. • Midnight Sun – In summer, the sun never sets — hike, fish or explore at any hour. • Fishing – Try your luck by the shore or join a local boat tour. • Birdwatching & Photography – Especially in summer, when Arctic birds arrive in large numbers. 🍽️ Food & Shopping: • Restaurant Oliver – Cozy local restaurant with daily specials and seafood. • Olsen Fisk – Buy fresh Arctic fish and seafood to cook at home. • Spar Berlevåg – Local supermarket for all essentials and snacks. ⸻ 🚗 Getting Here Berlevåg can be reached by Widerøe flights or by car from nearby towns. You can also see the Hurtigruten ship dock daily at the harbor. Other things to note 🐾 Pet Policy We have a friendly dog living upstairs with us. He won’t come downstairs, but if you’re uncomfortable with dogs, feel free to reach out before booking. We are happy to welcome pets in the apartment! 🐶 Please let us know in advance if you’re bringing a pet, so we can prepare accordingly. Our friendly dog may bark briefly when guests arrive, but he’s harmless and used to visitors. 📝 Other Things to Note Check-in and check-out times are flexible — this isn’t a hotel, so we’re happy to adjust to your travel plans whenever possible. ✈️🛳️ If you’re arriving or leaving by plane or Hurtigruten, just let us know — you’re welcome to stay longer or check in early if the apartment is ready. We’ll always do our best to make your arrival and departure as smooth and stress-free as possible.
