Description

Casa Melida is a stone house almost 200 years old, completely renovated. It is located in one of the districts of Castro-Urdiales, its municipality and right on the Camino de Santiago. In a valley between the sea and the mountains. You can walk to the beach on a wonderful path of about 2 km, at the same distance you can access the Ruta del Piquillo, a walk from the cliffs around Castro-Urdiales. You can also go hiking from the door of the house. The space The Melida house is a typical Cantabrian stone house, built almost 200 years ago. It was renovated little by little and with great affection. It is the oldest house built in the area. Today the facade of the house maintains its old charm but inside it is a modern house, offering all the comforts in a spectacular setting. It can be used to plan family reunions or between friends in a unique and rural place. What I would highlight most about my house is that it is very close to the places of interest. You can reach Castro in about 8 minutes by car and Bilbao in about 15 minutes. We also have frequent public transport that connects the village with its municipality, Castro-Urdiales, a charming fishing village that you can't miss. It's a place where there's atmosphere and life 365 days a year. You have to get lost in the streets of Castro, eating tapas, tasting the Cantabrian cuisine and above all going for a walk on its promenade that connects Cotolino with Ostende Beach. Castro is a cultural city, with many events, not only in summer. Our house has 3 floors. Floor 0 is an open space loft of about seventy square meters, where you can enjoy being all together. We love being able to have the whole family in one area, the children painting, the adults chatting, cooking, watching the fireplace, listening to music. Floor 0 has a large kitchen with all appliances, including a 90cm full flex ceramic hob. Living room, TV area, fireplace with 360º view from anywhere in the room, toilet - laundry, closed dressing room. The 1st floor consists of a master bedroom, suite type with a full open bathroom and a large dressing room and another three-bed room with another bathroom and a play area for the little ones. Floor 2 is an open, glazed floor with mountain views. It consists of a wonderful office, ready to work from home, receiving 100% Wi-Fi signal. In front of the office there is a large terrace of about 20 square meters that allows you to work and enjoy panoramic views of the mountain. I love being up there in the winter months listening to the rain on the roof. In the same area there is a solarium terrace with two hammocks, totally enclosed and intimate, where you cannot see and a bedroom area with a double bed. The house has an ideal outdoor area. We have a wood/charcoal barbecue along with a large outdoor table, garden with artificial grass and a porch with pergola that allows you to enjoy the area also in winter and less warm times. From the door of the house you can go hiking, walk to the beach on a wonderful walk of about 2 km and at the same distance you can access the Ruta del Piquillo, a famous walk along the cliffs of Castro-Urdiales.
