While this important work will be underway for several months, we want to assure visitors that most of the beach will remain open, and disruptions will be brief and minimal. You can expect beach renourishment to begin at the northern end of the project area and progress southward. Work in the city of Myrtle Beach is scheduled to start in February 2026 and conclude by mid-July 2026. Work in Surfside Beach and Garden City Beach begins mid-July 2026
