Originally, this property was part of the property of the Count of Herberstein. The Herberstein family reached Libochovice in the mid-19th century, when Teresa Dietrichstein married Johann Friedrich of Herberstein. This marriage was brought by Herbersteinompany Libochovice and Budyně nad Ohří, which Teresa inherited from her father Prince Joseph of Dietrichstein. The Jägerhaus in Poplany served as a forest house, a center for forest management and huniteb, as well as a grove dwelling. In the 1930s, a cruise restaurant was set up here and the Jägerhaus becomes a popular cruise destination. Herberstein owns a number of land and properties not only in Bohemia, but also in Moravia and Slovenia. In 1925 their property was significantly reduced as part of the land reform. After World War II, in 1945, Herberstein property, including the Jägerhaus, was nationalized and passed into the administration of the Czechoslovak state.
