North of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park, your refuge is located in the heart of nature in the municipality of Châtel-Guyon, a thermal spa. Discover the beautiful Puys mountain range (30-minute drive to Puy-de-Dôme and Vulcania), or the surrounding landscapes thanks to the many hiking trails! You can also choose to take a horseback ride from the refuge, to discover in an original way a territory shaped by volcanoes, these sleeping giants The space . On the grounds of the riding school of Coralie and Kenn, your Homnest hosts, the refuge has all amenities in 14 perfectly optimised square metres: ✓ AMENITIES ❀: * Sleeping area: a 160x200 cm queen-size bed (2 adults) and a sofa bed (1 additional adult, extra bed) * Kitchen area: fridge, gas hob, sink, utensils, dishes and condiments * Lounge and dining area with table and chairs * Bathroom: sink, walk-in shower and eco-friendly toilet (dry toilet) * Soap, towels and bed linen provided * Heating by a gas stove * Ceiling fan to keep you cool (no air conditioning) * Outdoor furniture (except in winter): table, chairs & deckchairs (no barbecue) * Drinking water via a 5-litre fountain: do not drink the tap water, which is supplied by a tank and used for showers and washing dishes * Cleaning included * Free parking 𖠜 HEATING: • Thanks to its powerful stove, your retreat becomes a real warm cocoon, even when the cold winter temperatures are biting outside. In just a few minutes, an enveloping warmth spreads throughout the lodge. A cosy and comforting atmosphere, perfect for sitting by the fire with a book in your hand or simply gazing at the gentle orange flames. ❆ FAN (but no air conditioning) • A ceiling fan will give you a feeling of coolness in bed in summer. 𖣔 FOOD & ACTIVITIES: For an additional fee and upon reservation at least 48 hours before your stay (then subject to availability after this period), Coralie offers you: •⁠ a wine & charcuterie basket (€25) • horseback rides from the refuge, in a group and guided by your hosts (from €30 per person for 1 hour) - maximum 1 person per horse (adult or child) and children accepted from 12 years old. Maximum weight per person: 90 kg (for the horses' well-being) ⚡ Electric vehicle charging on a 2.3 kW socket provided by your host. The vehicle must never be plugged into a socket at the refuge, and the charging packages are not divisible (4 hours = 4 consecutive hours) •⁠ Car package: €5 for 4 hours / €10 for 12 hours / €15 for 24 hours • Bike package: €2 per charge (4 hours maximum) ✓ GOOD TO KNOW: The refuge is located in a natural setting and is fully self-sufficient: electricity is produced by solar panels, the kitchen and heating run on gas, and running water is stored in a tank. You have all the usual comforts, but the idea of an alternative habitat is also to become aware of its impact on the environment! As a result, a few rules apply during your stay: 1) With the exception of phones and laptops, do not plug in any electrical appliances other than those provided on site, as this may damage the solar system. It is therefore not possible to use, for example, your hairdryer, a straightening iron or a raclette machine 2) As the risk of fire is very high in the middle of nature, it is strictly forbidden to smoke in the refuge and in the surrounding area, as well as to light any flame (no barbecue) 3) Wastewater is filtered by plants: you are asked to use only the 100% natural products provided (shower gel, washing-up liquid) 4) Pets are not allowed in the refuge Guest access . ✓ Check-in: from 4 p.m. ✓ Departure: before 10 am ✓ Key box available in case of late arrival ✓ Possibility of seeing your hosts for an earlier arrival (depending on their availability) ✓ You have a free space to park, near the refuge ✓ Access to the refuge is via a dirt road of about 400 metres. Low cars (sports type) may not pass/scrub in some places Note: two shelters are installed on the equestrian centre. You will be in shelter number 2. Both refuges have been designed to preserve a private space as well as your privacy during the stay Other things to note . The refuge is located on the equestrian center of Coralie and Kenn, who work on site. So you may come across them, as well as their pets, during your stay There's no wifi at the listing The entrance to the refuge is not on one level, it has a small staircase of 3 steps.
