You may hear the train pass by from time to time – it’s part of the charm of the area, but it can be a little noisy. To ensure you’re well-prepared, we recommend bringing a few essentials like insect repellent (as sandflies can be busy before the rain), and a torch. While Otira doesn’t have shops, you can stock up on supplies in nearby towns: Kumara (43 minutes), Arthur’s Pass Village (15 minutes), or Moana (35 minutes). Though there are no theme parks here, the beauty of the wilderness offers its own kind of entertainment, so feel free to bring your favourite activities! Our bathroom is equipped with a bath, shower, hand basin, and toilet for your convenience. Nature lovers adore this peaceful getaway, and many of our guests return again and again. We hope you’ll have a wonderful time reconnecting with nature and making special memories.
