At the Sciresée, at the foot of the protected forest

From the early 1900s, Casa Sciresee has been completely renovated, while maintaining its old-world charm. Spacious and bright, it is perfect for a family relaxation stay, or for hiking adventures, but also for groups (art, work, etc.) since it is located in the Centovalli, or in the middle of a forest reserve in the southern alpine mountains of Switzerland (650 meters above sea level), but also a stone's throw from city life on the shores of Lake Maggiore, thanks to Locarno. And you can book a classroom. The space It has 6 rooms distributed over 4 levels (ground floor + 3 floors) for a total of 233 m2; it has two bathrooms (toilet + shower; toilet + bathroom), an equipped kitchen (with appliances such as a coffee machine, toaster, egg warmer, microwave, dishwasher, etc.), a relaxation area with TV and board games, rooms with wardrobes, mirrors, luggage rack, and if necessary a crib; it also has a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer: every comfort to make the stay Family & Pet friendly, counting: 11 beds for adults (4 beds in the attic) + 2 cots for babies up to 3 years). P. / 18 m2 To senior Room number one is a master bedroom and has 1 double bed 160×200 cm (for 2 adults) and if necessary it is suitable to accommodate an additional baby bed (60×120 cm) on request. P. / 18 m2 To friends Room number two is the ideal bedroom for 2 (or 3 adults), children or friends, since it has 1 French bed 140×200 cm and 1 single bed of 90×200. ________________________________________ Room N° 3 – 2. P. / 18 m2 To lovers Room number three is the ideal bedroom to accommodate an extra couple, with only 1 double bed 160×200 cm (x 2 people). ________________________________________ Room No.4 - Mansarda / 40 m2 For teenager Room number 4 is an attic open space (with a sloping roof) that accommodates 4 single beds 90×200 cm for as many teenagers (4 boys). Only if accompanied by adults. ________________________________________ CLASSROOM - Upon request, we can act as intermediaries with the Municipality of Centovalli, which offers the possibility of renting a classroom in the former Town Hall, already a school Guest access The access is independent and with a code for the key box Other things to note PARKING: The municipal parking lot, at the entrance to the village (both the municipal house area and along the cemetery), is large and there are usually free places even in summer, when the village is filled with vacationers. The parking lot is a five-minute walk from the house, but for convenience you can leave the car on the side of the road for loading and unloading suitcases right at the height of the house. TO EAT & BREAKFAST: In the center of the village, in the square, there is - a three-minute walk, or even less - the Antica Osteria Ghiridone (ask for any festive closures; here the continental breakfast at 15 is served upon request.- CHF; also for lunches and dinners: it is very popular, so much so that they even come from the city to dine in company). FOOD SHOP: There is, always in the corner of the square, a "self-service" with cheeses, cheeses, eggs: you take and leave the money in a box. Always with "self-service" there is a more well-stocked grocery store (cereals, ice cream, drinks, flours, pasta, oil, sauce, milk, beans, rice, frozen products, and so muchmore, all organic) in "La Botega" of Bordei, that is about a 7-minute drive. You pay in cash or with Twint. In addition, Ercole (Pellanda) brings bread to the village, and throughout the rest of the valley (his sweets are very good) with a van, sometimes white sometimes orange: he arrives in the square, playing the horn, between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm, traffic allowing, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (even on Saturdays, during the summer). The same goes for the butcher Frei. Another grocery store is located 9.8 kilometers from Palagnedra, Intragna (here you can shop 24/7 in a small village shop. There is a basic assortment for daily needs. Mainly organic quality and, if possible, coming from the region; after booking we can send the link: it is also possible to make orders for larger orders). Otherwise you can go to Valle Vigezzo, where there are grocery stores at Italian prices: Re is about 11 km away, then there is Santa Maria Maggiore, Dissimo... SPORTS ACTIVITIES TREKKING: On site, in Palagnedra there is a walking excursion service (for a fee) that also organizes personalized trips upon request. But you can explore the many trails (200 km in all), comfortably and independently. SWIMMING POOLS: from Palagnedra you can walk to some pools of beautiful waterfalls; otherwise in Locarno (32 min. by car) there is the Lido, which also has "thermal" pools with hot water in winter, and a SPA route, all overlooking Lake Maggiore directly. CANYONING We can give directions to sign up for a guided experience in the Rii di Mulit, with "jumps" up to ten meters, directly in the Centovalli. LAMA TREKKING: In the Centovalli, opposite Palagnedra, you'll find the Comino Mountains, which can be reached by cable car: here you can sign up for Lama Trekking. SKI STATION: The nearest ski resorts are located across the border in Piedmont at: Cui Dariolo J-bar: 16 km (26 minutes) Cima Trubbio: 27 km Gugnin: 27 km The nearest ski resort in Ticino, very nice with several slopes, on the other hand, is 1 hour 10 min (51.5 km) in Bosco Gurin.
