Welcome to kooralbyn. Relax in a serene space of an original 1860's cottage, attached to our home. A private entrance & patio, ensures you'll be tucked away enjoying rural views, for a perfect Country retreat. If you're leaving the city lights for the dark sky night, walking the Lavender Trail, have an event or simply want something to unwind in an idyllic setting, there's something for everyone. An hour from Adelaide & within easy reach of 3 fabulous regions, Kooralbyn is a unique destination. The space •We live onsite - side by side with the Cottage, sharing the same roof. The cottage is on the ground level only. There is a large double bricked wall between both houses, originally an external wall. Providing effective soundproofing between the houses is a double doorway with hush glass. The cottage is fully equipped and with its own private entrance and patio area. The Cottage is on 98 gorgeous acres of rolling moss rock covered hills and magnificent gums. It is a working farm with sheep and we have chooks and a few working dogs. You can meander along the creek or take a stroll along the track to the dam. It's a beautiful spot for photography, taking a picnic or simply relaxing with a book. If you would like to see a different perspective of the landscape head up the hill behind the dam or anywhere really, for stunning views of the surrounds. Once you're up the top you can walk along the fence line back to the house. Guest access The Cottage has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Relax in a large king bed with soft linens and garden views or a cosy Queen room with garden and patio views. You'll find a desk suitable some work related tasks. Indulge in our soft deluxe robes and slippers, there's no rush to be anywhere. A separate bath with outdoor views makes for a luxurious soak with bubbles, relaxing oil or bath salts. All toiletries, towels and linen are supplied. Continental Breakfast provisions of cereals, bread, condiments, juice and milk and basics like salt, pepper, sauce etc are provided. A full kitchen with a large island bench with seating for four, boasts a 900mm oven. A Nespresso machine for a caffeine hit and an array of teas. A kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge/freezer. A dining/lounge area seats 4 with TV, internet, free wifi, reading material and a few games. There's an open fire in lounge with wood supplied in the cooler months, May - August. Radiant heaters are mounted on the walls in the bedrooms, kitchen and lounge. Ceiling fans in the bedrooms and a pedestal fan in lounge. It is a stone home with return verandas and if closed up during the heat, stays cooler. The nights are generally cooler, so opening window's overnight will keep the interior cooler. A Patio area off the kitchen is your own space with a BBQ, lounge seating and dining for 4. Festoon Lights creates ambient lighting and also keeps the bugs at bay. The pool is a shared space with the owners and if you're not around may be using the pool on the hot days. Other things to note •We live on site •Because we're a working farm you may hear a tractor, motorbikes and vehicles at times. We try to keep the noisier times to later in the morning. There are also working dogs, chooks, and sheep. • our house sits on the Lavender walking Trail. (Along the tungkillo, Mount pleasant loop) •e bikes/ bikes on kidman trail and lavender cycling trail •30-40 min to Barossa Valley •25 minutes to Mannum and River Murray •25-30 min to heart of Adelaide hills •45 min to Hahndorf •about 1hr and 10 to the city •1&1/2 hrs to most beach regions/ fleurieu •1&1/2 hrs to the airport •Mount Peasant Farmers Market 5min drive and there is a discount card and shopping bag for use •Wineries from 10min to 40min drive •Mount pleasant Summit walk is a 10min drive away •Mount pleasant Town is little treasure trove of things to see and do.
