Un’altra Vita is situated in the middle of the medieval village of Dolceacqua, just steps away from Castle Doria. Breathtaking views from all three terraces, this house has been perfectly restored whilst preserving all the original character. Experience an authentic, slow touristic Italian moment in our home and incredible surroundings. The space Un’altra Vita is built over four floors, and 250sqm, making it one of the largest houses inside the medieval village. You will find 3 beautiful bedrooms, each unique and characteristic. The original slate and terracotta floors can be found in some rooms, as well as the original fireplaces and stone walls. On the ground floor we have the cantina, which can be used for bike or sporting equipment storage. The first floor features a large family bathroom, a large bedroom with two single beds, a lobby, and another double bedroom with huge bathroom including washing machine. All bathrooms are brand new and are fitted with luxury brushed bronze taps, rainwater showers and towel radiators. On the second floor you will find the first fabulous lounge, with original fireplace, built in seating and tv. The stunning kitchen which was handmade in the 70s is also on this level, recently modernised with brand new combi oven, gas hob and fridge, but still bursting with the original character and views from the sea to the mountains which you can enjoy whilst you sip your espresso. On the third floor you will find another lounge with sofa and traditional wood fired stove, a gorgeous dining room with open fireplace, as well as large oak dining table and teak chairs, perfect for a family bbq dinner. Three terraces, one covered with another beautiful dining table, one with Weber bbq and the final one with loungers can be found, all with views across Dolceacqua, the castle, river and church. Guest access All parts of the house except for the storage are open and available for guests. Other things to note Dolceacqua is a medieval village with many stairs! It is not recommended sadly for anyone who may have challenges with mobility. Our home is over four floors so is great for fitness, but simply not suitable for anyone who cannot take too many stairs. We have to emphasize this to avoid any stress or frustration. There are car parks dotted over the village. The nearest one is around 100 metres from the entrance to the medieval village. Please note: there is no option to park directly at the house. Its is a 5 minute walk away from the nearest car park. We are just 10 minutes from the nearest beach, 20 minutes from Menton, 30 minutes from Monaco and 1 hour from Nice airport. There is a direct train to Nice airport from Ventimiglia which takes 1 hour. Dolceacqua is a cycling and hiking mecca and we can provide details into local activities and routes.
