Welcome to Pohutukawa Lodge - our luxury stay on Pepin Island! This is the perfect place to unwind, explore and get inspired. Just a 20-minute drive from Nelson, our luxury stay accommodates up to 6 guests, making it ideal for friends or families who want to experience island life with all the comforts of a nearby city . Simply drive on our coastal road to enter and exit the island! No need to take a boat or ferry to get on Pepin Island. The space You'll have the entire main floor of the lodge to yourself : 3 bedrooms , 1 full bathroom, 1 half bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room, 2 indoor fireplaces, washer & dryer, 2 outdoor decks, BBQ and an outdoor hot water bathtub. There is a lockbox & key for you - arrive at your convenience! Your Bedrooms : 1st bedroom has a king mattress, closets, skylight, access to a balcony & a stunning ocean view. 2nd bedroom has a queen mattress, dresser, tall ceilings & skylight. 3rd room is an open office with two stackable beds that turn into two single beds. This means it can accommodate 2 people! Your Bathrooms : This lodge offers two bathrooms! A half bathroom with a sink and toilet and a full bathroom with a luxurious walk-in shower, toilet, heated towel rails, high ceilings & a skylight. Your Kitchen : Includes a fridge, freezer, stove, oven, sink, dishwasher, toaster, water kettle, coffee machine, cutlery, cooking essentials & wine glasses. Your Dining Room : A beautiful dining table & chairs facing stunning views. Includes a fireplace, board games, extra seating & access to a front deck!   Your Living Room / Sun Room : The highlight of this amazing property has to be the lounge, it really is spectacular. Floor to ceiling windows to take in that amazing view and enjoy a perfect indoor-outdoor flow. After a day of exploring the island, you can relax by the log burner and watch the sunset. Outdoor Decks & Bathtub : The front deck is a beautiful spot to relax in front of the ocean view. The side deck is where you will find the BBQ,  outdoor log burner and seating area. There is also an outdoor bathtub where you can lie back with a glass of wine and listen to the birds and ocean waves. Unique Details : Pohutukawa lodge has been designed to make you feel instantly at home. With high quality furnishings and a chef's kitchen, you really won't want to leave. The living spaces are spacious, unique and full of spectacular views! The lodge's unique character stands out by blending the old with the new. You'll experience the beauty of the original villa that served as a farm-house for decades, in contrast to the modern extension & its striking design. The name Pohutukawa comes from one of our unique native trees. The Pohutukawa tree is an evergreen beauty that blooms its bright red flowers in December. For this reason, we also refer to it as the New Zealand Christmas Tree. It is associated with the Maori legend Tawhaki - symbolizing the strength & beauty of New Zealand’s landscape. Modern Conveniences : Immerse yourself in nature with the comforts of a luxury home. Including electricity, heat pumps, air conditioning, fireplaces, washer, dryer & bluetooth player. Currently no wifi  access but there is great cell reception on the island to use your mobile data. Wifi will be available from November 2024 onward. Location : We are in the perfect location! Close to the city, surrounded by gorgeous nature and fun activities. When you book with us, we'll send you a list of all our favorite places to visit so you can feel like a local. Other things to note When entering Pepin Island, you'll find Pohutukawa Lodge is just 200 meters from the car park, offering a blend of seclusion and accessibility. Immerse yourself in all that Pepin Island has to offer! From coastal walks, to birdwatching, kayaking in the coves, exploring the secluded beaches, finding stunning rock formations and enjoying the stunning views . . . We can't wait for you to come experience the magic! Please note that Pepin Island is a working farm so you may experience noise from farm vehicles and animals. We also have continuing construction Monday to Friday We want you to make the most of the island and explore all it has to offer. Please make sure you bring appropriate footwear and clothing. While our beautiful island is still being built on, we're excited to welcome you to the getaways that are ready for you to enjoy!
