This rambling two-story country home, nestled in a mountain hamlet in the town of Izu, offers the experience of Japanese countryside living. Enjoy barbecuing and lounging in the yard, taking walks along the forest roads, stargazing at night, or just chatting over a meal in the family room. The house is a 20 minute walk from a train station, 5 minute drive to the beach and close to countless attractions. For a refreshing family-style stay in the lap of nature, this property is ideal. The space Lodging: Living and dining room with a spacious kitchen. Enjoy cooking and dining while watching your favorite shows or movies on the large flat-screen television equipped with Apple TV. Bedrooms: Four rooms in total, two Japanese-style rooms with tatami, and two western-style rooms. The second-floor tatami room has a twin, while the western-style ones have one semi-double bed and one single bed respectively. The first-floor tatami room has a set of four futons for a comfortable rest in a traditional Japanese space. Workspace: The tatami room on the first floor has a spacious desk for remote work, providing a quiet environment where you can concentrate. ★Owner recommendations: - Wine refrigerator: Enjoy a glass of wine, amid the soundtrack of birdsong, night insects, and a nearby burbling brook. - Fully equipped kitchen: Throw a vacation party or treat yourself to an unhurried meal to enjoy in the spacious combined kitchen/dining room/living room. - Nearby beaches: Wake up early for the four-minute drive down the hill to experience the dramatic sunrise over Ōshima to the east. The beach at nearby Atagawa is a well-kept secret—accessible by train, with free entry and parking, nice sand, and fun waves. Feel free to use our beach chairs and camp table for a day by the sea. – Walking distance to Izu-Ōkawa Station: It’s a steep climb but the house’s spacious bath awaits to wash away your fatigue. Guest access You can enter all the area of this house. Other things to note -Insects: Since the house is in the middle of nature, several insects can appear. Even though we have taken the possible measures, depending on the reproduction season, or the rainy days, the number of insects may increase. We apologize if you are startled by them. -BBQ:Guests who want to use the outdoor BBQ grill must bring their own charcoal. Only use the grill in the designated area. The outdoor BBQ grill area can be used up until 20:00. A large hotplate is available for indoors BBQ. -Doggies:Up to 3 dogs are ok! Please bring your dog beds and refrain from using the Japanese style rooms. -Collaboration request for environmental considerations: The surroundings are a quiet residential area. It’s forbidden to make noise after 20:00. There are no disposable amenities such as toothbrush or face lotion. Also, we request you to bring your own seasonings and cooking oil. -Wild cats live in the neighborhood. They are friendly and cute but, we will appreciate your collaboration in not letting them inside the house. We hope our house is the cool Japanese experience while your stay at Izu area.
