Description
Project Remember is a space for reconnecting with yourself and the community in the gentle embrace of the Western Ghats. The small and cozy room is part of a larger home where we work on small livelihood projects, run a small permaculture farm that brings you fresh food, and host workshops. At Project Remember, you join us in the journey of coming back to our roots - the collective journey of belonging. "Whenever you feel alone, it is often the time to re-member; to come back to the village.” The space The property is our home that is also a Community Learning Centre and Guest House as part of the activities of Maanushi Foundation - a non-profit organization that primarily works in public health and livelihood initiatives in rural areas of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. It is surrounded by a permaculture space where we grow our vegetables. Plus, you wake up to over 15 species of birds and a mountain overlooking you! The space hosts workshops and hands-on learning experiences in deep ecology, soil restorative farming practices like permaculture, Yoga philosophy, fundamentals of Kalaripayattu, and traditional food recipies based of Ayurveda. We also host Nature Walks in the Tiger Reserve and visit to the Food Forest in the valley. To plan these activities, write to us with your query on @_projectremember. Please note that you will be staying at our home; this means you will hear Amma’s favourite songs while she is cooking, Dad watching his favourite shows on TV, his stories of Communism, and the sound of neighbours knocking on the door for sugar on some mornings. You can also join us when we go the field as part of our educational programme. If you are a single person, write to us and if we don't have other bookings, we would love to offer you a discount. Guest access The common area, which includes a living space, a small yoga space, and library are accessible for you. The room is private and has a shared bathroom.
