This lakefront home is our primary residence, on Airbnb for a select few date ranges. 15 mins to Portland city limits, 18 min to Industrial Way Breweries, Riverside Golf+North Deering, 25 mins to downtown (Old Port, Arts District, Munjoy Hill+West End). The space If you plan to bring a dog, please scroll down to the end to read the pet rules! This spacious home has an open concept kitchen/dining/living space with gorgeous views of Forest Lake. The lake is spring fed, and very clean. We have a lovely sandy beach with gradual entry to the water, and a large grassy fenced in yard (fence height ranges from 2-6 feet). Additional Features: -two lakeside firepits (one traditional, one large Solo Stove) -pet friendly w/fee for non shedding dogs only -lakeside deck with comfortable sofa and dining for 6 -4 kayaks, one Sea Eagle kayak with sail (tandem inflatable for 2 paddlers and passengers: holds up to 750 lbs) and an assortment of inflatable floats and noodles -30 minute drive into Portland -downhill skiing: under an hour to Shawnee Peak, 35 mins to Lost Valley -well stocked kitchen Things to note: The lake generally freezes sometime in December, and is usually safe to play on in January, February, and the start of March. It's great for ice skating, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling. The ground floor has a gym area, with a treadmill, rowing machine, spin bike, and weight bench. There are yoga mats, straps, foam rollers, and two large TVs to entertain you while you work out. For safety, the heavy weights are locked with a combination, which is available if you’d like to use them. Radiant heated floors on the ground floor and the 1st floor. Upstairs is heated by baseboard heat. In the summer, there are window AC units in all bedrooms minus the ground floor bedroom (tends to stay cool), as well as a unit in the dining area. For the colder months there is a wonderful propane fireplace in the living area. Unfortunately our home is not ideal for guests with mobility challenges, with stairs for entry and throughout the house. There is no railing along the dock, nor along the steps to the beach. The 1st floor is the original cabin structure, so has 7' ceilings, with two beams that come down about another 6". The ground floor and 2nd floor have 8' ceilings, and the primary bedroom has a lovely lofted 10' ceiling. There are shades and curtains on all bedroom windows, as well as in the dining area and kitchen. The large lakeside windows do not have shades or curtains. Two of the bedrooms have bi fold doors, with privacy window film on all but the top row of panes. The house is one mile down a dirt road. In the summer it's usually in good shape, but can be very bumpy during the spring and fall. Our fence varies in height. By the water it is only 2 feet high. This is our home, so you will see our things here and there. We have provided plenty of space for your things, with closet space and dressers available for your use.
