Welcome to Dragonfly Meadows! Tucked up in the sunny hills of Bridgton, this charming 1-bedroom apartment is perfect for your escape to the purest and most tranquil settings that Western Maine has to offer. With WiFi, heating/AC, and year-round views of Mt. Washington & Pleasant Mountain, any season is a good time to escape to our little slice of scenic utopia. Our road is steep. In the winter an AWD or 4WD vehicle is a must. No smoking inside - no tobacco use anywhere on the property The space The apartment has a spacious, open concept kitchen, dining and living area, a large bedroom and bathroom all on one floor. The bedroom offers a queen bed, dresser, large closet, ceiling fan and window air conditioning unit. There is a futon in the living room which can be pulled out into a double bed. Extra linens for the futon can be found in the bedroom closet, including pillows, blankets and sheets. Everything is washed between guests with fragrance free, plant-based laundry sheets. The apartment is attached to our home but with your own entrance and outdoor space, you'll too feel the quiet and serenity that we love so much about our space. The front yard has a small outdoor eating area, garden and privacy fence. The backyard and field of wildflowers is yours to explore as well. Keep an eye out for critters- wild and domesticated. You're likely to see deer, turkeys, porcupines, turtles, neighborhood kitties (including our own), and guinea hens. There are many dogs living on our road so please drive carefully. With 14 acres to explore, and miles of woodland town trails nearby, there's no shortage of things to do. Relax in the hammock in the shade of the oak tree, watch the wildlife meander through the fields, go for a snowshoe or cross country ski or head into town to check out all that Bridgton has to offer. Pleasant Mountain is just under 20 minutes away for skiing/snowboarding (including night skiing) in the winter and hiking in the warmer months. There are many public beaches in the area as well. Our road is steep. In the winter an AWD or 4WD vehicle is a must. Guest access There is a fire pit located by the shared patio in the backyard. Use is based on weather conditions- please see "fire pit use" section under house rules for more info. There are a few areas inside the apt. that are not available to guests and have keypad locks- the basement, bathroom closet and the door connecting the apartment to our side of the house. The back deck and out buildings are not available to guests but the rest of the outside space is yours to explore! Other things to note Respecting wildlife is very important to us and we ask that our guests share that same respect. We strive to maintain a pollinator friendly environment and in return, we get to enjoy the beautiful wildflowers, butterflies, dragonflies and bees. There is absolutely no hunting allowed.
