Down East Lake Side Escape by Bar Harbor & Acadia

Welcome to our family camp where the sun sets over Flanders Pond and eventually disappears behind Shoodic Mountain. Our pond has a sandy bottom and it spans over 550 acres so we like to call it a lake! This house features its own beachfront with three kayaks included! Swim the crystal clear waters! We are about 45 mins depending on traffic to Bar Harbor and Acadia State Park. Winter Harbor/Shoodic Pennisula is about 15 mins away. We are next to a public boat ramp so bring your own boat! The space The layout is as follows, bottom floor has a one car garage which leads into a partially finished game room. There is a pull out couch in there that is already pulled out as a bed. The laundry is down there as well. Second floor has the full bathroom, kitchen and living room as well as a walkout balcony. The top floor has the primary bedroom with a king size bed and balcony The other bedroom has two adult size bunk beds as well as a twin. There is also a half bathroom in between both of the bedrooms. The house is fully equipped with baseboard heating for the winter months, running water from a deep well, and fully functional cesspool. The pond does freeze over during the winter. People ice fish the pond during the icey months. In the summer, you can catch brown trout, smallmouth bass, white perch and pickerel. Down East sunrise trail is right around the corner. There's a bunch of trails you can visit nearby as well. 10 mins away you can go to the shoodic beach and climb the shoodic mountain. In the summer you can take a boat ride to bar harbor from winter harbor and just avoid all the traffic getting out there. Winter harbor is like 15 mins away and is a part of Acadia national park. You can rent a bike there and cruise around the scenic roads. There's three kayaks and life vests for guests to use. Swimming and boating are at your own risk! Some people asked about blinds - though there weren't any installed in the photos, each window does indeed have blinds. Also the pictures don't share that there's air conditioners -- we have one in both bedrooms upstairs and the middle floor where the kitchen and living room is. Also two coffee makers on site - nespresso (pods) and Mr coffee (grounds). Also there is a boat launch next door so absolutely you bring your own boat! Other things to note If you're flying into bar harbor airport, it's about 30 mins to the house. If flying into Bangor, it's about an hour drive.
