The space This enchanting Cotswold stone cottage is a hidden gem, tucked away on the edge of Burford's lively centre. Dating back to the 1500s it is full of characterful original features making a quaint getaway in one of England's most picturesque towns. Inside, the cottage combines a blend of old-world charm with modern comfort. Cook up a feast of local produce in the traditional kitchen to be enjoyed together before gathering fireside. At the end of the day each bedroom is a cosy retreat with one offering lovely church views. In the master suite on the top floor, you rest beneath wooden beams before spending another day exploring this glorious part of the Cotswolds. With its handy en-suite this bedroom is a snug hideaway. Cherish time spent in the garden, a floral hideaway which is a hard thing to find in the middle of Burford. Sitting behind these historic worker's cottages, the gardens have a higgledy piggledy nature which embraced a sense of community meaning you may see your neighbours passing by. It is a delightful spot for a BBQ or just to sit and soak up the peaceful surroundings. Beyond the garden you can explore the highlights of this honey-coloured town. Along the winding mediaeval streets are independent shops, eateries and havens for searching for antiques. Discover the town's past at the ancient church of the Baptist and stroll the River Windrush. With all these delights on your doorstep you won't need to travel far, but within easy reach is popular Burford Garden Centre, the exclusive shopping hub of Daylesford and Blenheim Palace. Ground Floor Open Plan Living/Dining Area The heart of this delightful cottage is the open plan living area. Exposed beams are highlighted above with a flagstone floor underfoot, it is like stepping back in time. A wonderful introduction to the cottage you can rest beside the fire and set the dining table for meals together. The TV is hidden away in the carved wooden cupboard beside the fireplace. Kitchen Bringing modern conveniences to your stay, the kitchen embraces a traditional design with hidden appliances. Start your day by preparing breakfast here to be taken out into the garden. First Floor Bedroom Three This double bedroom boasts the best view in the house, looking across to St John's church between the climbing roses. The ceiling in this room stretches high above you with wooden beams and a skylight which makes this room light and airy. Bedroom Two Start your day here with a coffee at the window seat, watching people pass along the street below. This delightful king-size bedroom has an adjoining dressing area with a chest of drawers. This space would be ideal for setting up a travel cot or for children to play. Bathroom The bathroom is a haven at the end of a busy day where you can spend time in a bubbly bathtub or get ready for an evening at one of the fabulous eateries of Burford. Second Floor Bedroom One Nestled at the top of the cottage, the master king-size bedroom is tucked beneath the beams and is open to the stairs. Full of character, the windows look across the neighbouring rooftops. Staying in this room you have the added benefit of an en-suite. En-Suite The elegant en-suite embraces the original features, keeping the wooden beams which run through from the bedroom and there is a contemporary shower, stone sink and exposed stone wall. Outside Spinner's Cottage has a unique secluded garden nestled amongst the neighbouring spaces where a table seating four is surrounded by greenery. Gather for a BBQ or relax with a book and cup of tea in this pleasant spot. Guest access Guests have full access to the cottage and garden. Other things to note 2 well-behaved dog/s are welcome for an additional fee of £45 per dog. This fee is not included in the rental price. Please advise us at the time of booking if you are bringing a dog/s and you will be sent a request for the additional fee. Spinner's Cottage has a charming garden, access is required through this space to two neighbouring properties. St John the Baptist church bells ring every hour, which is an endearing feature that most guest quickly get used to. The bells are also rung on Sunday mornings, Tuesday evenings and when there is a wedding. The cottage is set over three floors with two flights of narrow and steep stairs. There are also a number of internal steps. This property may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
