We can't wait to welcome you The space Peninsula Pad is a one hour drive from Washington, DC and Annapolis, and 10 minutes south west of Prince Frederick. A 10-30 minute drive will take you to wonderful farm markets, local restaurants, Chesapeake Bay beaches, state and local parks, marine, art, and airplane museums, vineyards, distilleries, and breweries, kayak launch sites and miles of hiking trails. If that's not enough, right over the bridge past the Solomon's Island boardwalk is St. Anne's County. Peninsula Pad is a recently renovated, independent walk-out basement apartment with a peaceful outside patio, surrounded by trees and forest sounds. You will arrive here via the new paver walkway from your reserved parking spot. The Pad is an open space with distinct areas, but there are no separate bed rooms. One end has a Queen size (bed #1) with a VERY comfortable, organic mattress, and all the pillows you could want. There is also a work desk and a rocking chair in the corner if you need to put a little one to sleep, or just like to rock as you read. The living room space looks out on the patio and includes a love seat and a Twin size day bed (bed #2) with many pillows and cushions. The day bed has a twin size trundle bed on wheels below (bed #3). If there is a fourth person, the trundle bed can be pulled out at night and pushed back under the day bed during the day. The dining table is spacious and it comfortably seats four. The kitchenette has everything you need for morning tea (a variety) or coffee (instant and press), to prepare a quick breakfast, to pack a day lunch or picnic, to serve afternoon wine and cheese, and for simple dinner prep. There is a small fridge, a two burner stove, a microwave oven, a toaster, a crockpot, and an electric water kettle. There are pots and pans, dishes, can and wine openers, cooking knives, a cutting board, a strainer for pasta...etc. Dishes can be hand washed in the sink. The full bathroom shower is stocked with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There is hand soap, a hand towel, and hand sanitizer at the sink. We will provide one towel and washcloth per guest. You’ll find a hairdryer in the drawer. A wooden armoire has extra blankets, hangers and shelves for your clothes. An iron and ironing board are available on request. Guest access Our guest will have exclusive use of Peninsula Pad during their stay. It is a walkout basement with it's own entrance, its own kitchenette, a full bath with a shower, and laundry facilities. The patio, table, and chairs outside the Peninsula Pad entrance are for the exclusive use of our guests. Peninsula Pad is the lower level of our house. So, if we run into each other in the driveway, we will be sure to say "Hi!" Other things to note There are no stairs between your car and Peninsula Pad. The paver walkway is a smooth surface, but it does have an incline as it winds around the house to the back patio and entrance to the Pad. Guests with mobility issues will need to step over the sliding door entrance. There are no stairs inside the pad, but there is a slight step up and over to get into the shower. Neither the sliding door nor the bathroom door are wide enough for wheelchairs. Those are the only two doors.
