Dragonfly House

A 5-minute walk from miles of beach, Dragonfly House is a recently renovated house on 30 acres in rural Tlell. On the way to the beach, coffee, tea, ice cream, brunch, groceries and more can be found at the Crow's Nest Cafe and Store. Tlell is centrally-located on Haida Gwaii, facilitating adventures north and south throughout the islands. Owners Lynn Lee and Leandre Vigneault live at the bottom of the hill in one of two other homes on the property. The space Enjoy our recently renovated 2 story wood framed house. The kitchen is fully-equipped with propane stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, coffee press, teapot, and cooking utensils. A propane BBQ is located on the outdoor deck. Basic cooking supplies are available including excellent coffee and teas from a local shop, sugar, white and whole wheat flours, spices, cooking and olive oil. A loaf of homemade bread, butter and a dozen farm fresh eggs from our chickens will greet you! The guesthouse has a master bedroom with queen-sized bed, a bedroom with two single beds, bed room with a queen-sized bed and a bedroom with a double bed. The two couches in the living room can be converted to double-beds. There are two bathrooms on the second floor both have tiled showers and a 2 piece powder room on the main floor. The living/dining room has a pine ceiling, laminate flooring, and comfy couches that call to you to curl up with a good book or to watch a movie. A dining table, chairs for eight, and an eclectic selection of books, and Netflix are available for your entertainment in absence of television reception. Some puzzles and toys are there to engage young guests. A washer and dryer are available for use with laundry detergent provided. A small chest freezer can be plugged in for use as needed. Guesthouse heating is provided by an air source heat pump with a wood stove as an option for cold winter days . Guest access Guests rent the entire house and have access to all parts of the house including use of the covered deck, laundry facilities, yard and parking spot. For those guest who are thinking of hunting while they are on Haida Gwaii, please note that there is no place to hang, skin, process or store deer on the property or in the guesthouse. Other things to note Rates listed for the guesthouse include the GST we are required to charge. There is no cellular signal at the guest house but if there is wifi so a person can make calls this way of they have turned on their wifi calling option before arriving.
