The space The house is shared with the owners, their teenage daughter and two friendly dogs Henri & Archie. With years of experience in hospitality, we’re here to ensure your stay is comfortable, attending to every detail with care and warmth. A french style continental breakfast is provided which includes tea/coffee/juice, pastries, yoghurts, cereal & fresh fruit, this is served in our traditional salle à manger or on the garden terrace during summer months. Guest access Le Mas is ideally situated in the beautiful Charente region of France, just 20 minutes from the historic town of Cognac. Set in the heart of the ‘Grand Champagne’ vineyards, it offers a tranquil escape where you can savour the fresh air and breathtaking beauty of the French countryside. The ever-changing landscape invites peaceful strolls right from your doorstep, providing a perfect backdrop for rest and relaxation. There is plenty of car parking space available at the property which is all easily accessible. The property is set in a small hamlet where traffic is minimal but access to the local shop is just 2km. The towns of Archiac 6km, Segonzac 10km and Cognac 20km where you will find weekly markets and all the main supermarkets, as well of plenty of activities to do from Cognac tasting to shopping. A little further away you will find the city of Bordeaux, famous for its wine of course or there is the beautiful port of La Rochelle and the beaches at Royan, all within an hours drive. For all those wine lovers then St Emilion is definitely worth a visit - a charming medieval village located in the heart of the famous Bordeaux wine area. It is a UNESCO heritage site where you will find world-famous wineries, fine wine, beautiful architecture and great monuments. Discover the many beautiful Chateau’s by bicycle or take a Tuk Tuk tour . A little further still lies the pretty island of the Ile de Re where all of its rustic french charm can be explored by bicycle, look out for the the salt marshes, delicious oysters and designer boutiques. There is so much more to love about this area … Other things to note Our French Maison de Maître is a charming property designed for adults and may not be suitable for children, especially those under the age of 2. With its traditional features, such as staircases without gates and windows without child locks, the property prioritises elegance and authenticity over childproofing. We recommend considering this when planning your visit to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for your family.
