Description
Stunning Hunter Valley rural property on the Paterson River. Surrounded by 600 acres of green rolling hills, river flats and the pristine, pebbled Paterson river. We are 18km from the historic town of Gresford with Lostock dam less than 1km. Come and relax with family and friends. The space The cottage is nestled into our 600 acre beef cattle property, away from the road and closer to the river. We have Angus beef cattle (please note they are not dairy cattle and therefore they're not milked) and horses as well as Australian wildlife including; wallabies, platypus, echidnas, bower birds, eagles, king parrots, lorikeets, to name a few. Guest access The river has deep fishing holes. You are welcome to explore the property with long walks, hiking the hills or mountain cycling. Nearby Lostock dam is great for a stand up paddle board or kayak etc. Gresford is 18kms from the farm. It has 2 local stores, post office, 2 cafes, The Beatty Hotel (pub), Bowling Club and Showground. Gresford has many events such as the Gresford Agricultural Show in early March, The Billy Cart Derby and Fair on Easter Saturday with locally made jams and olive oils as well as the infamous gum boot throwing competition and cow pat lotto. Gresford rodeo is in August and throughout the year, the showground hosts many horse competitions from camp draft to dressage to pony club. Other things to note Please bear in mind this is a working beef cattle property. Please ensure you leave gates as you find them. We do have bulls and we can advise you of what paddocks to avoid. Children under 4 years of age are not recommended as the back yard is not child proof. All children will require supervision with horses, cattle, rivers, troughs, dams and waterways. While we love our Australian fauna, we do occasionally see black and brown snakes on our property. These snakes are venemous and contact should be avoided. Should snake bite occur, there is a first aid kit in the cottage and dial 000 for advice and an ambulance. There is limited mobile reception. Telstra is the only mobile coverage and you can usually get texts or call at the front of the cottage. There is good coverage at the building at Lostock dam. Air conditioning is in the enclosed veranda area only as well as overhead fans in most rooms. Please do not access the sheds due to a range of dangerous farm equipment.
