Serene Secluded & Scenic: gorgeous cabin in nature
Description
The Hoot is a glorious haven of peace, surrounded by the soothing sound of nature! It offers a unique sanctuary from the daily grind where you can enjoy beautiful lake views, birdsong & spot wildlife from the amazing raised decking. By night relax in the hot tub, gaze at the stars & cosy up by the fire pit. The Hoot enjoys being off the beaten track & nestles on our private wildlife reserve. Lovingly furnished with local art & vintage crockery it has a koselig vibe which we hope you'll love! The space The Hoot is the third cabin we've built here and it's a firm favourite with our regular guests! From walking out onto the raised decking, which gives you the most glorious views through the valley, to the vintage Hornsea crockery and luxurious Dusk bedding there's a lovely eclectic mix of styles. It's unique, sustainable & built from reclaimed materials. We're really happy that we have retained the wildness in the surroundings whilst making it a welcoming and cosy place to stay. We really hope you feel this too! There is a little garden area just for The Hoot which is diagonally across from the cabin. It's the perfect spot for a fire pit or as a leafy haven where you can read, paint or just listen to the water gently flowing. The Hoot is part of Bellbrook Farm Hideaway Holidays - an off the beaten track destination surrounded by nature and nothing else! We're passionate about protecting our native wildlife and have worked in partnership with Devon Wildlife Trust and Mother Nature to transform our former trout fishery into a precious haven for many species. As such swimming, paddling, boating and fishing in the lakes is not permitted as it harms the delicate ecosystem we're protecting. There are no manicured lawns, tarmac paths or artful hedges in sight, just wild areas which we hope you'll enjoy exploring. Dedicated wildlife watchers will be able to spot endangered water voles, deer and kingfishers as well as amazing array of dragonflies which dance around the lakes in the summer. As Autumn approaches The Hoot is a beautiful spot to watch the changing of the leaves, listen to the stags' call and find an amazing array of fungi! In winter it will get muddy so please bring your wellies. If the first thing you usually do on holiday is log on to the wifi, The Hoot won't be the right place for you. It's perfect for a digital detox though! There is a TV that works for streaming and has Prime & Netflix (you'll need your log ins for other channels). However it uses the mobile wifi which isn't the most speedy & it's also weather dependent. If guaranteed internet access and TV are essential please don't book to avoid any disappointment. We do provide a DVD player, some DVDs and a selection of retro board games for those mi-fi off days! We hope to see you soon and please ask if you have any questions - we will always give an honest answer as happy guests make us happy 😊 Guest access Guests are welcome to enjoy the reserve which is set over 3 acres or so. Please do not go past any private signs, metal hurdles or cross into the woods opposite as these are private areas. Other things to note The Hoot is accessed via a private farm track of around 500m (please note this is not a road and is somewhat bumpy and will it get muddy in the autumn and winter - we don't recommend it for low slung cars). The parking space, which is right next to the cabin, isn't huge so you'll need to be a whizz at 3 point turns - one car only. As we're an off the beaten track retreat, we're surrounded by beautiful countryside and very little else. Therefore popping in the car is essential to access any shops, cafes, walks etc. The lanes are also single track for 2 miles so you'll need to get your reversing groove on! There are lovely shops & cafes in Bampton (5 miles) and Tiverton (9 miles). Please make sure you're happy with the semi remote location before booking. Due to the off grid location of the cabin the lights will sometimes flicker. This is all part of the adventure of a rural hideaway but we want guests to be aware of this.
