Welcome to the Rum Runner’s Rest- a cozy, 3-bedroom hideaway perched above the Atlantic. We are located in a quiet coastal village that once served as a secret haven for smugglers, sailors, and storytellers. Whether you simply want to relax and enjoy the view, or you'd like to visit the nearby sand beaches, take the opportunity for a short or extended coastline hike, or experience the 100 Wild Islands. There is something for everyone on the Eastern Shore! The space Wake up to the ever-changing views and fall asleep under a canopy of stars at this charming 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom coastal retreat. Nestled in a quiet village and perched just above the shoreline, this small but thoughtfully designed home offers sweeping ocean views and everything you need for a relaxing seaside stay. The highlight of the home is the expansive deck—your front-row seat to the sea. Whether you’re sipping morning coffee, enjoying long sunset dinners, or watching fishing boats drift by, the deck is where you’ll want to spend most of your time. It’s spacious enough for lounging, dining, and stargazing all in one day. Inside, the home is cozy and filled with natural light. The open living space includes a comfy seating area, dining table, and a well-equipped kitchen with all the essentials. The three bedrooms—one with a queen bed, the other two with doubles—are simply furnished for comfort and rest. The single bathroom is clean and functional, with a full shower and plenty of hot water after a day by the sea. This home is ideal for families, couples, or friends looking for a peaceful getaway with unforgettable views. Located in rural Nova Scotia, you’ll find friendly neighbors, quiet beaches, and scenic trails all within reach. Our primary residence shares a driveway with our cottage, and is close- but out of sight- if you require our help. Please do not block our driveway. We generate the power required to run the cottage with the solar panels that you'll notice. Kindly steer clear of the panels. There is a basement in the cottage that has an external entrance only (no access from indoors). Guests do not have access to this space, and on occasion, this may be accessed by owners. We will always give you a heads up that you may see us go in. We will in no way have access to your space from the basement. Guest access The main living area of the house is all yours. There is a basement with exterior access that will be inaccessible during your stay. Other things to note Upon arrival, you'll find some drinking water in the fridge. While the water is tested and safe, we are on well water, so we recommend that you purchase your drinking water or use the spout on the kitchen sink. Otherwise, the water is good for cooking, bathing, etc. The house is situated on a turn, so please use caution when entering and exiting the driveway. The Eastern Shore is Nova Scotia's hidden gem, and the view from the cottage here is spectacular. We are overlooking the beautiful islands of Shoal Bay, these islands are part of the group known as the 100 wild islands. There are absolutely beautiful beach parks on eith side of us, Taylor's Head Beach Park (10minute drive east), Clam Harbour Beach Park (20 minutes west), Martinique Beach, (30 minutes west). Martinique beach is known for its surfing and lessons are available there. Just 5 minutes away in Tangier there is a Sea Kayaking outfit Coastal Adventures that does day tours, exploring the waters and beaches of the islands you'll be overlooking. In the neighboring community of Sheet Harbour, 25 minutes to our East, you'll find amenities such as gas, groceries, nslc, restaurants such as the beautiful Henley House Pub and Restaurant. In Musqudoboit Harbour 25 minutes to our west, you'll find similar ammenities such as gas, groceries, nslc, and small restaurants. This cottage is grid tied but has a net zero solar power system, so you can feel good in knowing the electricity you'll be using here is powered by the sun. Registration Details STR2526D6981
