End your stage on the Elbe Cycle Route in the "Radlernest" [Bike Nest], in the middle of the "Alte Elbe Kathewitz" nature reserve... The space Update in July 2025: New beds, new mattresses, even more restful sleep! Our guest apartment "Radlernest" is located on a former four-sided courtyard, directly behind the dyke of the Elbe near Torgau. The listed farm is family-owned in the fifth generation and was last used agriculturally by the grandfather. Today, the farm serves as an apartment, with the large garden being used for fruit and vegetable cultivation. Two big dogs and a tomcat complete our team. The dogs run freely on the property and are quiet and reserved. In an annex to the farmhouse, we have developed a cozy guest apartment for you. An individually furnished apartment awaits you in a familiar and quiet atmosphere in the middle of the charming Elbe meadow, which invites you to take relaxing walks and unwind in every season. In the entrance area of the apartment you will find a modern kitchen with sink, stove and fridge and all necessary utensils. From the hallway you can reach the living/dining room for up to two people, from there the bathroom with shower and toilet. Bed linen and two towels are provided for our guests. Wi-Fi is available. In the warm season, there is a seating area with garden furniture in the courtyard. If they are no longer set up (e.g. in early spring or late autumn) due to weather reasons, please ask if necessary. In addition, you can bathe and swim in our beautiful natural swimming pond (12 m x 4 m, 2.10 m deep, with stairs and underwater platform). Please note that the pond is designed for swimmers and is to be used only at your own risk. Our simple guest room is ideal for overnight stays on bike tours or for guests who are active outside during the day and are looking for a cozy, quiet retreat to sleep. Guest access Upon arrival, we will be there in person to welcome you, hand you the key, familiarize you with the local conditions and introduce you to our pets. Other things to note A small supermarket with a post office is located in Arzberg (about 1 km). A selection of discount stores and supermarkets as well as all other necessary facilities can be found in Beilrode (about 7 km) and Torgau (about 15 km). Next to the kitchen of the "Radlernest" guest room is the central heating boiler heated with wood pellets. Only during the winter months is the boiler usually perceptible with a slight noise. From time to time (about 5 times a day for a period of about 3 minutes and NOT at night) the boiler makes louder, vacuum cleaner-like noises while sucking in the wood pellets. This primarily affects the kitchen. With the door closed, this rare noise can only be heard quietly in the guest room. This should not be a problem, especially for active guests who are out and about during the day. In winter, slippers or thick socks are recommended in the kitchen so that it always remains cozy. The Wi-Fi in the guest room meets basic requirements (don't forget a book to fall asleep :-), outside it is available in very good strength.
