Description
Welcome to our beautiful timber frame treehouse! Hand-built by local carpenter David Green, this work of art overlooks the Ocmulgee River. Our two-story dwelling has two porches, a lofted bedroom (full bed), a living area (window seat/bar/twin bed) and kitchen area (foot-powered cast iron sink, outdoor camp stove, prep area, dishes, cookware, and more). As it sits currently (Spring 2026) there is not an indoor restroom. We do have a camping style toilet (Luggable Loo) available. The space The treehouse is built on a 20-acre lot along the bank of the Ocmulgee River in Jones County, GA with access to some of the most beautiful sections and the best fishing along the entire river. The Piedmont National Forest is adjacent to our lot (North side) so there’s plenty of hiking, biking and nature watching close by! We have kayaks and canoes available to rent as well, just let us know what you need and we’ll help make your stay memorable. More details about the treehouse: The kitchenette is stocked with dishes, cooking pots, cast iron pan, glassware, knives, cutting board, tea kettle, French press, utensils for grill (spatula, fork, tongs), campfire cooking skewers and campfire toaster. There is a dish bin and drying rack for washing dishes (water needs to be heated in tea kettle on the camp stove). The window seat doubles as a bar when cushions are removed and it pulls out into a twin bed as well. The full bed in the loft has bedding; BYO bedding if you plan to use the twin bed as well, or let us know if you need some and we can provide. Blackstone camp stove (one burner, one griddle) with propane provided on a wheeled cart. Please use outdoors on deck only. Guests may want to bring potable water, bug spray, cooler (can provide cooler with ice upon request), and additional headlamps. Treehouse contains battery-powered track lights, overhead lights and two ceiling fans, as well as one solar-powered lamp. We also have a pellet-burning electric heater on the main level to keep you warm on those really cold nights. The heater is power by a rechargeable battery. The batteries may need to be recharged, depending on usage and if guests are staying longer than one night. We’re happy to recharge them off site so just keep us informed of your needs during your stay. Utility cart is available at parking area to help guests transport supplies/gear to the treehouse. Treehouse is not currently insect-proof. Remember, you are in the wilderness and very much OFF THE GRID. Mosquito netting available for above-bed use as well as board games and a few books. Guest access More often than not the entire 20 acre tract is open to our guests. We also host campsites directly on the river and your stay may overlap with another party camping on the river. If you’d like the ultimate VIP experience, do not hesitate to ask us about booking out the entire property. We’d be glad to make arrangements so that you’re guaranteed to not overlap with campers at our river-side campsites. Typically this would involve an additional fee to book those four campsites during your stay. Do not worry though, if the campsites are already booked, there’s plenty of space, firewood and river for everyone! You’re not far from retail shops of North Macon (15 minutes) and historic downtown Juliette (10 minutes). Did we mention the Piedmont National Forest is adjacent to our property?! The treehouse is currently accessible via walking trail only as of Spring 2026. We’ve recently planted grass seed along our newly expanded walking trails so we’re excited to see that sprout and fill the ground. Parking for the treehouse is a quick 3 minute walk away. Other things to note The property is very isolated. We recommend that you hike in/out but if you’d like to arrange a paddle-in/out adventure, we can help make that a reality! A utility cart is provided to help bring in supplies/gear from the parking area as well. There is a railroad across the river that you’ll hear throughout your stay…don’t be startled! (Earplugs recommended for sleeping!)
