Description
Set near the heart of an 85-acre family homestead in the Columbia River Gorge, GreenHouse is a thoughtfully renovated home surrounded by river, mountain, and forest views. Unwind in the outdoor sauna, pick seasonal fruit, say hi to the animals or curl up in the reading nook. Whether you're gathering with family, exploring the Columbia River Gorge, attending a wedding, or simply slowing down for a few unhurried days, GreenHouse offers a peaceful place to return to at the end of each day. The space GreenHouse has abundant natural light, real wood floors, open common areas for gathering, a spacious and well-equipped kitchen, and a cozy reading nook with a window seat. Two of the three bedrooms open out onto the large deck, where the Columbia River is visible through towering Douglas Firs. (It’s possible you will also see a chicken or two passing through your yard!) Just one mile from Stevenson, GreenHouse is an ideal base for waterfalls, forest hikes, paddling, hot springs, and craft pubs, wineries, restaurants – everything the Gorge has to offer. It’s also a great place to slow down and savor staying put! GreenHouse is part of Barn Magic, an evolving hospitality and stewardship project rooted in the homestead. Additional offerings available. Guest access GreenHouse sits near the end of a private country lane, just 4 minutes from small town Stevenson, Washington and centrally situated in the Columbia River Gorge. Portland International Airport is 50 minutes away. Please CREEP LIKE A SNAIL on the driveway! :) The front for is conveniently located for unloading. Three dedicated parking spaces come with the house. Guests receive a door code on the day of arrival for simple, self check-in (we’re happy to greet you in person when schedules allow). Other things to note GreenHouse is one of three dwellings on the homestead; the other two are inhabited by our family. As you turn onto the private lane, please drive very slowly and watch for animals and children. Also check beneath your car before leaving – animals sometimes rest in shaded spots. We steward both land and water here. Please practice water conservation (especially June–October). During these months, fire risk in the Gorge is high. No fires of any kind. No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property. No pets, as we have our own resident animals, who you may meet during your stay (see photos!) Please TURN OFF LIGHTS when not in use, especially outdoor lights at night. We aim for dark skies and bright stars. This is a peaceful place. No parties or loud music. Expect natural country sounds: train whistles, animals, wind, birds, and the everyday rhythms of a place that is actively lived in and tended. Our family has loved this land for three generations, and we’re happy to answer questions anytime. Good to know: *Bedrooms have blackout shades; common spaces do not. *Trifold mattress + Pack-n-Play available (upon request). *Snowshoes available in winter. *Rural internet can be slower.
