Other things to note 🚗 Free parking on the property 🔑 Self check-in with code 🧺 Washer & dryer available for an attractive fee ✈️ Airport pickup from Puerto Jiménez can be arranged upon request 🌿 Off-Grid FAQ: What to Expect – Is there reliable electricity? Yes. Our solar system runs efficiently, even during the rainy season, and provides stable power for lights, fans, cooking, and charging devices. – Will I have internet and phone access? We use Starlink satellite internet with high-speed Wi‑Fi, ideal for Zoom, streaming, and remote work. Cell signal is very limited, so we recommend using Wi‑Fi calling or messaging apps. – Is the water safe to drink? Yes. Our drinking water is filtered five times and is clean, safe, and delicious. Rainwater is also triple-filtered for all other uses (washing, showering, etc.). – What if something goes wrong? Are you nearby? Yes, we live just up the hill and are always available if you need anything, have questions, or just want to share a (delicious, locally harvested, artesanal) coffee and a chat. – Is it easy to get there? We’re 6 km from Puerto Jiménez, accessible by any car (though a high-clearance vehicle or 4x4 is recommended during the rainy season). – Are there bugs or animals? Yes, this is the jungle! Expect monkeys, coatis, deer, anteaters, frogs, and incredible birds right from your terrace. The house is fully screened and thoughtfully designed to keep you comfortable and the bugs outside. Most guests find the wildlife magical and unforgettable. – What’s it like during the rainy season? The rainy season (roughly May-June and October-November) is when the jungle is at its most alive, green, lush, and full of bird calls and frog songs. Mornings are often clear and sunny, with rain sweeping in during the afternoon or evening, creating a cozy, rhythmic backdrop for reading, writing, or simply resting. The air is cool and fresh, and the wildlife is especially active. We recommend bringing a rain jacket, hiking shoes, and a sense of wonder. Our solar system is designed to handle cloudy days, and you’ll still have hot water, electricity, and fast Wi-Fi. 🌿 Optional Experiences (ask us for help booking!) – Cacao experience on a nearby farm – Horseback riding through the jungle – Whale & dolphin watching – Kayak tours on Golfo Dulce – Guided hikes with local experts – Wildlife & birdwatching excursions We’re happy to help you plan an unforgettable stay!
