Platanar Volcano Villa

Nestled high on the Platanar Volcano slopes, enjoy sweeping views of the northern plains below. The lights of Aguas Zarcas twinkle below at night, the only sounds you hear are toucans, macaws, coyotes and mountain breezes. This is a place for ultimate relaxation far from the crowds at the beaches. A place to be alone and reconnect with nature. Spend the day on the patio reading a book or soaking in the jacuzzi. Watch the lightning in the distance. Enjoy cool weather away from the lowland heat. The space Mountain villa on the slopes of the ancient dormant Platanar volcano. Primary jungle in the cloud forest above the property which is all Juan Castro Blanco national park, make it a highly desirable location due to extensive wildlife. Orchids are seen on nearly every tree. Hummingbirds are seen on nearly every flower. A birders paradise. Hundreds of species of birds are possible to see here, and bird watchers abound in the area. Wildlife is common, coyotes, ocelots, jaguars, tapirs, coatimundis, raccoons, agoutis, iguanas, snakes, tayras, we have seen it all here. My other home above this rental and just up the road borders the national park and has a river with large waterfalls. Tours are possible. We have a coffee plantation as well. The wildlife and nature, scenic vistas, and cool, high altitude mountain air is the main draw. A place to walk the trails, watch the day go by and see spectacular sunrises and sunsets all while sitting on the patio. The house is brand new. Completed in May of 2024 and landscape work finished in August. One king sized bed and one pull-out sofa bed make it perfect for a single guest or couple. The pullout is more suitable for children although it can accommodate an adult. Despite feeling like you are far from anywhere, the town of Aguas Zarcas is only 10 minutes away by car and the much larger Ciudad Quesada with shopping malls, hospitals etc is only 20 minutes. Everything you need is close at hand yet you are far from the noise and bustle of the towns. Guest access Entire property is yours to roam. Visits and tours of my personal home further up the road is possible. I have my own river and waterfalls. Large river pools good for swimming are possible to visit and enjoy for guest (at your own risk) with prior arrangement. Rocks are slippery, slips and falls are possible. The workers or myself can coordinate. You can even pick coffee and learn how coffee is processed. I have 500 producing coffee plants, bananas, plantains, maracuya vines etc. Other things to note Costa Rica is a jungle country. Wildlife is ever present. Insects are very common, if you leave the doors or windows open at night they will come inside. Venomous snakes are native and care should be taken when anywhere outside. Especially at night. Never walk anywhere at night outside without flashlights. Highly unlikely that you would ever see one but care must be taken. The wildlife is what brings most tourists to Costa Rica. It is one of the most biodiverse countries on earth and wildlife is strictly protected. Enjoy the abundant animals and remember that they belong here. You must respect that some animals are a danger (bites, stings etc) and never handle or touch wild animals. Heavy rains are possible at any time due to the location high on the mountain. It is considered cloud forest. Personally I love the rain. It rarely last more than a couple hours. Afterwards the fog and clouds are so beautiful, sometimes the entire lowlands are clouded in and we are bright and sunny high above the clouds.
