La Casa del Artista is a rustic caiçara cozy but simple family house for nature lovers, with a renovated electrical system, facing the main pier of Araçatiba with an amazing sea view. Its extensive sundeck overlooks the beach and it is located up the hill just below the rain forest. It has been the dreamhouse of international artist Osvaldo Romberg and his family for the last forty years, and it reflects the merging of the traditional lifestyle of the island with the conveniences of modern life. The space Nature lovers will enjoy the cozy, uncomplicated open atmosphere of this house. It central high-ceiling cooking-dining-living space is perfect for sharing food and conversation. The master bedroom has an in-suite complete bathroom. The other two bedrooms have a single bed each, with a pull off bed for kids, and an extra complete bathroom. The outdoor wooden table and umbrella on the sundeck are ideal for having a leisurely breakfast and romantic dinner to the sounds of waves and songbirds. On the side-covered patio, a long wooden table offers an alternative for sharing meals and barbecues. The kitchen is equipped with a coffee maker, toaster oven, blender, a gas stove and oven, and a refrigerator with freezer. There are lots of pots and pans, as well as serving utensils for 4-6 people. The house is also equipped with a TV, and an outdoor movable barbecue. In addition to the indoor dining table, there is a large outdoor wooden table with benches and an additional outdoor round table with a shade umbrella. While outside, guests can also enjoy relaxing on two hammocks. Guest access Guests can use every part of the house Other things to note Regular boats from Angra dos Reis will take you to Araçatiba’s main pier. Although the path is easy to walk on and partly railed, it is around 4 stories up to the house from the beach. Please take it into consideration when booking. For nature lovers, the island offers many opportunities for hiking, diving, and just visiting the various beaches on foot or on boat. I can provide a list of boats that conduct day trips around the island. The house provides some complimentary basics such as coffee, sugar, dishwasher, soap, and toilet paper for your arrival day, but make sure you bring the provisions you will need for your stay. For periods of over one month, laundry services are available by request for an addition fee. There are occasional unexpected blackouts on the island for an hour and sometimes for days that are beyond our control. An emergency charging station will be provided by our housekeepers. It will provide electricity for the refrigerator, so your food and drinks will keep cold. NEVER TOUCH IT YOURSELVES. And of course, you can always use candles safely!
