Located minutes from the town of Coxsackie, the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains, this historic cabin blends rustic charm and access to nature with comfort and convenience. The space The cabin's private terrace and wildflower garden look out at pine groves and meadows, surrounded by 100 mostly forested acres. The property offers endless opportunities to explore, recreate and interact with nature. Guests have full access to amenities including the Lake House (listed as the “Patio” in photos) and lake with swimming dock (about 500 steps from your front door!), trails and woods. Have fun exploring over 3 miles of marked trails that wind through the woods and meadows and around the lake, and look for historic stone walls, indigenous stone mounds, and centuries-old stone foundations. Wildlife abounds, including many bird species, beavers, otters, deer, frogs and salamanders. Take in the sunset from the Lake House, or enjoy the fireflies and the starry night skies from the comfort of your private patio. ***The Lake. Mirror Lake is a 5-acre, stream-fed lake that is part of the local drinking water supply, so it's clean and great for swimming! Enjoy swimming off the dock, paddle boarding or canoeing, and then relax on the swinging day bed or a hammock in the historic, screened-in Lake House. A canoe, stand-up paddleboard and float tubes are available for your use. Please make sure that all children wear life jackets (not provided) and are accompanied by adult at all times. The lake is a short, 2 to 3 minute walk (about 500 yards) from the cabin along one of several paths. ***Please note, the Lake House photos are described as a "Patio" in the Photo Tour, due to limitations in Airbnb's descriptive options. ***The Location. The property is less than 10 minutes from the Hudson River and the popular riverfront towns of Coxsackie (8 mins), Athens (15 mins), Catskill and Hudson (20 mins), where you can find restaurants, riverside summer music festivals, farmer’s markets, galleries, antiquing, breweries, yoga classes and famer's markets, or rent kayaks and paddle the Hudson. The Catskill Mountains, offering some of the best hiking on the East Coast, are 30 minutes away; the Hudson Amtrak Train station is 20 minutes; Albany Airport is 40 minutes; and New York City is 2.5 hours. HITS horse shows are 30 minutes away - horse show riders will enjoy relaxing after the show and non-showing guests can settle in for a "show-cation"! ***You can find a full list of nearby activities and tips in our Welcome Book. However, high speed Wi-Fi is available for streaming from your laptop or other device. Guest access Guests access the cabin with a personal keypad code, which will be the last four digits of the phone number provided on registration. Full details are provided upon booking. Guests have access to all amenities including the cabin and patio, screened-in lake house, lake with swimming dock, trails and woods. Please note, a small portion of our trails cross a neighbors’ land. Please be respectful of all trails. Also note that our personal home is on the property, although it is completely separate and visually private from the cabin. The home may occasionally be occupied by other guests. Exterior security cameras are used to view the deck's and areas immediately surrounding the home. Other things to note * Guests are welcome to use our EV charger for an additional charge of $150/week, or $25/day. Please message Katrina to request access. * this listing is not walkable to any nearby town. You will need a vehicle to get here, and during your stay. * Accommodations are limited to two people. **If you wish to have another guest staying with you, please let us know and there will be a small surcharge. ** Infants and children under four are allowed for no additional charge. Please let us know if you need a pack and play for a toddler bed and we will gladly put it in the cabin for you! *The cabin will always be stocked with the essentials. We provide high quality Public Goods toiletries in every bathroom, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion. * Please note, ticks are common in wooded areas in the north eastern United States. We provide bug spray and suggest that you spray your clothing before walking in the woods, and check clothing and skin when you return. ***Guests swim, hike and use the property at their own risk. Children under age 16 must be accompanied by adults, wear life preservers when swimming and may not swim alone. Life preservers are not available on the property: please bring your own. *** * Hunting season in much of NY state runs from October 1 through March. On the rare occasion that our neighbors are hunting on their property, they will always inform us and we will advise guests of this. * Our personal home is also located on the property and may occasionally be rented to other guests. But the cabin is completely separate and visually private from the home, and cabin guests will enjoy privacy during their stay. Outdoor security cameras monitor the deck and immediate exterior surroundings of the home. * Please note, no parties are allowed under any circumstances. No smoking of tobacco, E-cigarettes, marijuana, or anything else, anywhere on the property. We hope you enjoy every minute of your stay!
