Hiking, biking, rafting, wineries & breweries nearby. 20-minutes to Harper's Ferry, Maryland Heights Trail, Antietam Battlefield, Shepherdstown, WV. Downtown Frederick 30 minutes. Baltimore and Washington D.C. 1-1.5 hour drive. The space Surrounded by nature, quiet and peaceful, you'll find the solitude and connection you want and need at the Potomac River Retreat. Sunsets are stunning and the black night sky will show you an endless amount of stars. Soaring 22' ceilings and seasonal views of the Potomac River and West Virginia via the large casement windows will greet you. Open kitchen with 10' island and seating for 4. A door to the screened-in "dining porch" is just off the living room. Outdoor grill and fire pit are available for your enjoyment. Cozy up on the large Ethan Allen sectional or grab a book and favorite drink for the reading corner. High speed internet and WIFI, streaming channels, and a record player are all available for your digital entertainment. One bedroom is on the main floor and outfitted with a king bed (Premium Nectar mattress) and ensuite bathroom and laundry. This bedroom also has french door access to the screened-in "sitting porch". No television in the bedroom. The second bedroom, with Queen bed, is up the stairs to the loft. Please note, this bedroom does not have a door and is open to the living area below. No television in the bedroom. The C&O Canal Towpath is accessible by hiking down our gravel access road (steep) and a short walk along the road to the Dargan Bend Boat Ramp. There is a parking lot at the boat ramp and a bathroom. Taking the Towpath to the LEFT, 4.5 miles, will put you at the bridge to Harpers Ferry (you can park bikes at the bottom of the bridge). Taking the Towpath to the RIGHT, 9 miles, will send you towards Shepherdstown, WV. Other things to note Owners, Lisa and Paul, designed and built this simple Scandinavian-inspired retreat in 2017. It's where they raised their son and hunkered down during the pandemic. Since the family relocated to Frederick, the home has now become an extension of Lisa's Interior Design business (Potomac River Interiors). It is a cozy blend of new and old and embraces nature.
