A peaceful retreat in a traditional "Kominka" along the Old Kōshū Road. From the entrance, you can take in views of the Shichiriiwa cliffs, and on clear days, Mt. Fuji and the Yatsugatake Mountains from the road. Inside, Nordic furniture and carefully selected art create a calm, cozy atmosphere. After your reservation is confirmed, we will provide you with a passcode for the entrance. Please use the self check-in and check-out system. Early check-in before 3:00 PM and late check-out after 11:00 AM are available for an additional fee. The charge is a flat rate of 1,500 JPY per hour, regardless of the number of guests. Unlike museums or galleries, these pieces are displayed in close proximity—inviting a more intimate and personal experience. The space is also furnished with mid-century Scandinavian furniture, primarily from the 1950s when this house was built. Take a moment to reflect on the nature of time, design, and what endures across generations. ■Low-Mountain Hiking •Arakurayama (1,130m) A hidden gem with stunning views of Mt. Fuji and the Southern Alps. It’s a quiet trail, perfect for those seeking a peaceful hike. You can walk to the trailhead directly from the accommodation (approx. 4.5 hours round trip). •Amariyama (1,731m) This mountain features scenic boardwalk trails and magnificent Mt. Fuji views. The hike is relatively short—about 1.5 hours round trip from the trailhead—making it ideal for families with small children. The area is famous for azaleas in early summer. ■Exploring Daigahara It’s about 20 minutes to Daigahara-juku, a historical post town. Start your walk from Michi-no-Eki Hakushu, and enjoy a half-day stroll with visits to: •Charmant Wine (Winery) •Zelkowa (Bakery): Exceptional European-style hard breads. •Shichiken (Sake Brewery): Try the sake tasting bar—highly recommended. Their beef stew at the brewery’s restaurant is also delicious. Family-friendly. •Kinseiken (Wagashi shop): Famous for their nama shingen mochi and other Japanese sweets, perfect with coffee. •Koma (Deli): Inventive, spice-forward vegetarian food. We recommend taking it back to enjoy with wine or sake at the accommodation. •&maman (Baked Goods): Their carrot cake is a must-try. Enjoy organic sweets made with free-range eggs. ■Eating & Drinking in Nirasaki From Ennonaka bus stop, it’s about 20 minutes to Nirasaki Station. On weekends, you can take the community bus along the Old Koshu Road for just 100 yen one-way. The town of Nirasaki offers many delicious local spots. Bar hopping in the retro Amerikaya Yokocho alley is especially fun. If you miss the last bus, a taxi back will cost around 4,500 yen—so be sure to plan your return in advance. Other things to note •The building is a duplex, and the adjoining unit may be occupied by the property owner or long-term guests. •Please note that insects may appear, as the property is located in countryside area surrounded by nature.
