Nature lovers can set off on foot or by bike directly from the château to explore scenic trails along the Indre River, wander through surrounding fields, and soak up the calm, rural beauty of Touraine. And of course, no stay in a Loire Valley château would be complete without exploring the region's other architectural gems: Château de Villandry (15 km), world-famous for its iconic French gardens Château d'Azay-le-Rideau (11 km), a stunning Renaissance masterpiece floating on the Indre Château de Langeais (23 km), with its rich medieval and Renaissance history, including a re-enactment of the royal wedding of Charles VIII and Anne of Brittany Château de l'Islette (13 km), a lesser-known gem that once sheltered the love story of Camille Claudel and Auguste Rodin A little further afield (all within an hour's drive): the royal fortress of Chinon (34 km), Château d'Ussé (35 km), fortress of Loches (43 km), Château de Chenonceau (47 km), Château royal d’Amboise (53 km), and the Clos Lucé (54 km), final residence of Leonardo da Vinci. We would be delighted to help you plan your stay and suggest the best local activities. We look forward to welcoming you! Guest access The château is located within an estate that includes: - At the entrance of the estate: a longère (traditional farmhouse), a small house with an enclosed garden, and the rear park near the gate - On the château side: the château itself and the large front park During your stay, you will have exclusive access to the château and the front park, as well as shared access to the rear park. Please note that the longère and the small house will be occupied during your stay. As a result, the rear park may be used as a passageway by the residents of the longère and the small house to access the estate gate. However, there will be no noise interference between the château and the other buildings, as they are sufficiently distant from one another. Other things to note The château's private parking area can accommodate up to 5 vehicles (please note, parking is only allowed on the gravel, not on the lawns). Additional open parking spaces are available just a few meters from the château within the village (20 pl). The interior of the property is entirely non-smoking. Please use the outdoor ashtrays provided if you wish to smoke. We look forward to welcoming you to the Château des Archevêques! Feel free to share your plans with us so we can help make your stay as perfect as possible. See you soon!
