Relax and enjoy this breathtaking riverfront home with your friends, significant other, or the whole family. The space This is a quiet two-bedroom riverfront home on 1.2 acres in Shady Cove, Oregon. Set in a tranquil location just two minutes from stores and restaurants, this home offers spectacular views that often include deer, turkeys, otters, and bald eagles. The fishing on this section of the Rogue River is excellent. The property includes apple trees, pear trees, and in the springtime a family of quail. A variety of wild birds from ducks to orioles can be seen year round. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property, with the exception of one garage, which is used to store landscaping equipment. Other things to note This home was built in 1938. It's charming and clean--and the view is incredible--but not all of the fixtures in the home are modern. Given the rural location, it is not uncommon for the power or internet to go out when there is heavy weather or an accident on the local highway. If the internet goes down, there is a blu-ray player and a wide selection of movies. If the power goes out, there are two electric Coleman lanterns in the laundry room. The power is usually restored quickly. Same with the internet. Water for the home is provided by an onsite well. Sometimes, if the home has been vacant for awhile, the hot water can smell sulphury when it's first turned on. The simplest way to fix this is open a window and run the hot water in the kitchen and bathtub until the hot water heater is completely empty. (The water will start to run cold when this happens.) It will take an hour for the water to get hot again but the smell will be gone.
