Description

Large, 16X20 glamping tent on an insulated platform, above the Deschutes River. Walk to the Steel Head Falls in 30 minutes. Tent has 1 queen size bed, and a futon, that can be made into a bed. The tent has electricity and cold water inside the tent. Porta potty is behind the tent. Local/Day trips to hiking, biking, fishing, golfing or kayaking in Central Oregon. Beautiful views of the Cascade Mountains. Matching platform for relaxing and cooking outside, with hot shower located behind. The space The main tent is on an insulated, raised platform. And beside it, is a raised, lounge deck available for cooking and relaxing outdoors. A propane, tankless water heater provides a shower behind the lounge deck. Rental Porta Potty is behind the tent. Views and smells are great (usually), and at night you might be treated to some coyotes howling. Guest access Upon arriving to 15650 SW Dove Road, turn into the entrance between a long yellow wall. In 60 yards keep right at the Y, ... then, in another 40 yds, turn downhill and follow the trail to the rustic parking area behind the tent (approx 100 yds). There are signs. TENT ACCESS AND TIPS: Access tent from the front via zippers for the canvas door and also the heavy netting. In warm weather, the canvas doors can be rolled up and strapped open, leaving access through the netting zippers. Please don’t be shy about making adjustments to the canvas doors and windows. The four windows can be zipped up or down depending upon weather and temperatures. PLEASE NOTE. Tents and wind are not always on friendly terms. Please fully zip the front door closed when leaving the tent for more than an hour or if you find the wind building. Thanks! Other things to note Please. - No open flames in the tent. - No pets on top of beds The tent has water that comes directly from our well through a frost free hydrant to the tent. The water is potable. In fact, it is delicious. Please note! We have a port-a-potty for bathroom business. Also we offer an on-demand, hot water shower (partially constructed, but works fine). The tent is equipped with a hot plate, microwave and toaster oven and a small fire extinguisher. Two larger fire extinguishers are positioned outside, on the wall of the lounge deck, and on a post under the tent. Also, a garden hose is usually hooked up to the faucet next to the shower. Please keep cooking to appliances inside the tent, or by using the barbeque on the patio deck. We provide a mid to large size sleeping pad for your pet. Please consider the time of year and expected weather conditions. Each season is a wonderful time to stay in the tent, but you have to be prepared for each season. The tent is a small layer between you and the elements. You can hear the wind blow, hear animals move at night (sometimes), so you are connected to nature. I want to address the "when the wind blows" again. When the wind blows, the tent makes noises, much like a sail boat I would bet? One guest left ear plugs, which we now keep on hand. Every day we get a little bit of wind coming down the Deschutes River Canyon. But it usually quiets down around 6pm and the evenings and nights are usually quiet. For cooler times of the year, the tent is equipped with 2 electrical space heaters, with remote controls. And usually, operating these heaters keeps the tent at a nice, cozy temperature. Also, we have a trunk full of blankets. We also have a small gas space heater(rated safe for use inside), that during real cold snaps can be used to take the edge off when first entering the tent, or returning to it. We do not recommend using the gas heater, except in real cold situations. Thanks!
