The homes are privately situated, not visible to one another, and do not share amenities or guest spaces. The only shared area is the main driveway entrance. Although the property feels secluded and neighboring homes are not visible, private properties surround the area. Please remain within the areas designated for your rental and do not enter neighboring properties or any private storage, maintenance, or equipment areas. Other things to note ▶ Local Hosts: The hosts reside on the property in a separate area that is not visible from either rental. You may occasionally see us maintaining the grounds or nearby trails, but guest privacy is important to us and there is no need to interact unless you wish to. As longtime local residents, we're always happy to share recommendations, favorite hikes, dining suggestions, and hidden gems to help you make the most of your Olympic Peninsula visit. ▶ Quiet Hours: This is a peaceful forest setting where sound can carry surprisingly far. To be respectful of neighboring properties and comply with local regulations, quiet hours are observed from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Please keep voices, music, and outdoor activities at a reasonable volume during these hours. ▶ Wildlife & Nature: The cabin is surrounded by native forest and wildlife. Deer, birds, rabbits, squirrels, and other animals are commonly seen around the property. Please enjoy wildlife from a respectful distance and do not approach or feed animals. To help keep wildlife wild, please do not leave food, beverages, coolers containing food, garbage, or scented items outdoors, in backpacks, or in your vehicle. Even small items such as a wrapped granola bar can attract wildlife. A cooler containing only sealed, unopened beverages may be left on the covered porch. As with any forest environment, insects occasionally find their way indoors. We perform regular inspections and pest control, but you may occasionally spot an insect during your stay. ▶ Children & Safety: Children must be supervised at all times and may not be left unattended anywhere on the property. We are in a rural mountain area with native wildlife. Children may not understand they should not approach, attempt to pet or feed wildlife. ▶ Sustainable Features & Backup Power: The cabin was designed with simplicity, comfort, and sustainability in mind. We use eco-friendly cleaning products to help maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally conscious space. ● Backup Generator: A backup generator provides added peace of mind during occasional mountain power outages. ● Dry Flush Toilet: To help conserve water and reduce environmental impact, the cabin is equipped with a modern, eco-friendly Laveo Dry Flush Toilet (not a composting toilet). Waste is automatically sealed in an odor-proof liner after each flush. No guest maintenance required—we replace the cartridge when it becomes full. ▶ Firewood & Propane: Your first firewood bundle for the woodstove and first propane tank for firepit are included with your stay. Additional firewood and propane may be purchased from us or obtained locally. ▶ Private Well Water: Our rural property is served by a private well. The water quality is excellent and provides clean, fresh drinking water throughout the Cabin. ▶ Food & Beverages in Photos: Food and beverages shown in listing photos are for styling and inspiration only and are not included with your stay. To help you settle in, we provide a complimentary starter supply of coffee and tea. Additionally, our fully equipped kitchen also includes a selection of basic cooking essentials, such as cooking oil and common spices. If you'd like to know whether a specific pantry item is available, just send us a message before your stay—we're happy to let you know.
