Waking up to the morning light illuminating the Japan Alps is one of the highlights of staying in Matsumoto, so we would like our guests to enjoy the view from the balcony! Feel free to take a nap or to read children's book on comfortable Brasilian hammock in summer and enjoy traditional heating table "KOTATSU" in winter! As well as enjoy the Brasilian folk art (woodcut print) gallery on down stairs! The toilet and bathroom will be shared with a family on the first floor. Although public hot spring “Shiraito no Yu”白糸の湯 is 15 minute walk from our house and is open from 6:30 am to 10 pm (¥400 *100% pure natural onsen water), highly recommended. Supermarket, Seven Eleven, drugstore are 2-5 min walking. Bus stop is just in front of our house to go to city center (10min) where many nice shops, bars and restaurants. Bus to Matsumoto station is 15 min (40 min on foot). Best location to make one-day trip to Kamikochi or either Utsukushigahara highlands (mid May to mid Nov) to go trekking, watching alpine plants, birds, monkeys or even just to enjoy the landscape from 1500-2000 meter altitude and fresh breeze. ski lover can also make one-day tour to Mt. Norikura snow resort (local and familiy-friendy) without equipment. In both case, You could use public transportation easily to get there and you'll just be embraced by nature! We also provide special tours, classes, shuttle services such as indigo dying class, onsen tour, Japan Alps mountain trailhead shuttle or Hakuba ski resort shuttle etc, so if interested, just contact us! * Please note as we follow the sustainable way of life (no pesticides, no weed killer), it is hard to avoid insects perfectly while your stay.
