Unique hand built log cabin. My wife and I built it ourselves in 2005 for a gift store which we ran until we started having kids. Some Alaskan artwork is displayed in the cabin. We've added a bathroom, a kitchen and a covered and screened-in porch in the front. The location is great for the Fairbanks area. Hand built log cabin close to Ester, Fairbanks, UAF and the airport. Very convenient location for this area. Has a queen bed and a sofa downstairs. Upstairs is an enclosed loft. Full kitchen with dining table, outdoor porch is covered and screened. The place has also a large bathroom. Guests have access to the whole cabin. We will provide a key and they can arrive anytime they choose. The guests will have their privacy, we live on opposite end of this 1.25 acre land. We are available if anything is needed and we are happy to provide any information about the area or the rental property. Our cabin is located just off the Parks Highway between Ester and Fairbanks. It’s about a mile from the Village of Ester and about 5 miles to Fairbanks and a similar distance to the airport. In Ester is the Golden Eagle Saloon, very popular with both visitors and locals. On the way to the saloon you will pass the Ester Community Park with playground and Ester Gas Station with a convenient store. Right after turning iff the Old Nenana Highway is the log cabin Ester post office building. In opposite direction a walk along the separated pathway along Park Highway will take you to the Gold Hill Gas and convenience store, and little further is Ursa Major Distillery. About five minute drive is a food and local items mall where there is Lemongrass Thai restaurant, Lulu’s Bakery, Red Fox Bar and Grill, Sipping Streams Tea Company and Roaming Root store selling only Alaska made art and Alaskan food, meat and produce. The bike path along the highway goes to Ester or to Fairbanks. All of the Fairbanks area is close by and the drive to Fairbanks is a short five minutes on the highway. The University of Alaska Fairbanks Museum and their Musk-ox farm are about 6 miles away. There is not convenient public transportation from our location. Uber and taxi are available for our area. I think you will enjoy the privacy and convenience of this location. It is located conveniently near the Parks Highway but it has a privacy fence and covered porch. Just ip the short road is public land with many trails.
