Description
The "Honigspeicher" is an old wooden house that has stood on this site for over 240 years. It is a place steeped in history, located in the heart of the tiny village of Hartböhn. The house was completely renovated in 2024 and features a tastefully furnished and comfortable living area for two people with a garden and two terraces. It offers plenty of peace and space. Active guests can walk, cycle and explore the beautiful Lüneburg Heath to their heart's content. The space Ground floor: The large covered terrace leads to the entrance area with space for shoes and jackets. This leads on to the almost entirely glazed kitchen with a sitting/dining area and a modern kitchen with a convection oven with microwave function, electric hob and fridge. The kitchen is connected to the living room, which is furnished with a large lounge sofa bed and a fireplace, which is used as the main source of heat during the cold months. The bathroom is also located on the ground floor. The original beams of the house have been completely preserved. Due to the age of these structures, the ceiling height is a cosy 1.95 m (1.74 m under the half-timbered beams). The standing height in the shower is 1.80 m. Upper floor: From the living room, a staircase leads to the upper floor, which houses the bedroom. Here you will find a large, comfortable double bed. The small balcony in front of the window is for decorative purposes only and may not be accessed. Garden and terraces: The house stands on a fenced plot with free access to a stream and is located on the grounds of a former farm. A covered terrace in front of the house and a small terrace directly by the stream invite you to enjoy your first coffee of the morning outside. Parking: There is parking space for one car directly in front of the property, and additional cars can be parked diagonally opposite. This is also where the "Hartböhner Zimmerleute" carpentry workshop is located. Other things to note The house is heated via the fireplace in the living room. Sufficient wood for the fireplace is provided by the farm's own carpentry workshop. In addition, the living room and bedroom are equipped with electric radiators, and there is infrared heating in the kitchen. The heaters are used exclusively to maintain a basic level of warmth. If you prefer to heat with the heaters rather than the fireplace, we reserve the right to charge you for the electricity costs after your stay. The house is equipped with SmartHome lighting, and there are switches in every room. Village and surroundings: Hartböhn consists of a small cluster of buildings on a former farm. In addition to the "Honigspeicher", there are three other residential buildings, stables and a carpenters' workshop on the premises. Hartböhn is also home to four cats, two dogs and various chickens, cows and horses. Neuenkirchen is about 10 minutes away by car, Schneverdingen and Soltau about 20 minutes. The region offers a variety of routes for cyclists. Other leisure activities include the Heidepark, the Soltau thermal baths, the Walsrode Bird Park and, in summer, public barbecues in Brochdorf and Neuenkirchen.
