Only an hour's drive from Melbourne, you'll be transported to a slower rhythm, where birdsong, eucalyptus-scented air and rustling leaves replace the hum of urban life. Open Living Area: A sunlit space perfect for reading, conversing or simply soaking in the serenity. Well-Equipped Kitchen: The kitchen is equipped with the essentials with a full fridge, microwave, induction cooktop, kettle, toaster, French press and stovetop coffee making options, making it easy to cook and enjoy more time spent at the bus. Bedroom Nook: The queen bed is elevated, creating a cozy nest, with a step ladder provided, adding a touch of childhood nostalgia and sparking a sense of playful fun. Charming Workspace: With Starlink wi-fi installed, you can escape whilst staying connected. Perfect for a mid-week break, an office in the trees! Outdoors: Start your mornings with coffee in hand, breathing in the fresh, eucalyptus-scented air. The outdoor space is thoughtfully designed with a deck, hammock, and guests are particularly loving our firepit that all blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings. Wildlife: Want to get your David Attenborough on but can't make it out on safari? We have a large variety of wildlife that's been seen on the property, with 19 bird species counted so far, kangaroos and the occasional wombats, echidna and even deer! EXPLORE Cottles Bridge and its surrounds are a true hidden gem, peaceful, creative and just waiting to be explored. While many guests come simply to unwind at the bus, the area offers more than stillness. A short drive to local cafes, bushwalks and river spots or venture to the nearby Yarra Valley wineries, markets and even river rafting. For those craving creativity, you'll find yoga, art and ceramics studios nearby or you can use the bus as a base for exploring charming towns like Healesville, King Lake and beyond. Guest access While the owner's house is 50 meters from the bus, the guest's space is thoughtfully screened for privacy. Guests have exclusive use of the bus and its surrounding outdoor areas with many commenting on how private and peaceful it feels. The driveway is shared off the main road but guests have their own private turn-off, parking space and entrance. We proudly offer an inclusive stay where guests of all backgrounds and communities are warmly welcomed into this safe and respectful space. Other things to note Moss & Wheels is a peaceful retreat best suited to adult guests. The property isn't fully fenced and the bus is designed for a relaxed open flow which means it's not ideal for children, pets or those with mobility issues. You'll have your own private slice of nature though you'll likely spot our friendly kelpie dog or cat who live on the property and sometimes stop by to say hello before continuing on their way. Feel free to enjoy the firepit during your stay (when permitted). We just ask that you bring your own firewood as it's not provided on site. The bathroom features a clean, eco-friendly compost toilet, it's simple to use, completely odour-free and maintained to a high standard. Clear instructions are provided and guests find it easy and comfortable.
