I'm pleased to share my latest design after a two year renovation project! This finished basement has been totally renovated and designed with lots of great amenities! It features secure parking, a private entrance, brand new kitchenette area and private bathroom, dedicated workspace, LOTS of windows for natural lighting, a blackout curtain in the bedroom, and the entire ceiling has been soundproofed! Extra soundproofing has been used in the bedroom for added comfort and enjoyment! The space LISTING NOTES (PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING): **NO SMOKING/VAPING/420: Due to my allergies, absolutely no smooking, vaping or weed is permitted inside the house or outside. If you smoke you should book somewhere else. **NOT WALKING DISTANCE TO TRAIN: While this house is just one mile from the train station, it's in a quiet residential area and not walking distance to the train station, restaurants or shops though a shopping mall, downtown Silver Spring, lots of restaurants and the metro train station are a quick 10 to 15 minute drive/uber. If you need to be walking distance to things, this is likely not the best fit for your needs. There is a fantastic walking trail down the street and a bus stop to the train station is within a 15 to 20 minute walk. **STEPS: Must walk down a set of steps to access the space. **NO COOKING: No cooking is permitted in this space so there is no oven, stovetop or microwave. This space is ideal for guests who plan to eat out, or to have food delivered (food deliveries are permitted) or will be eating cold food since a full size refrigerator is provided. **FINISHED BASEMENT UNIT: this listing is for the entire finished basement of my house which includes bedroom, bathroom kitchenette and living room. Note: I live upstairs but will only enter the basement to wash laundry if needed. **MILD NOISE POTENTIAL IN KITCHENETTE/LIVING ROOM: While I did add an extra layer of drywall in the ceiling, you can still hear people walking in the kitchenette/living room from the bedroom upstairs. You will not have this issue in the bedroom, because this bedroom is below a kitchen which has a marble floor. **LAUNDRY ACCESS: At times I need to wash laundry. If I need to wash laundry during your stay, I will notify you in advance. I would only wash laundry from 10AM to 8PM. There are privacy curtains which section off the laundry area from your area so even if I wash laundry we might not see each other. **NO ONSITE STORAGE FOR BIKES/BICYCLES/MOPEDS/SCOOTERS: If you are bringing a bike, scooter, moped or a similar device with you, note I am not able to offer onsite storage (inside or outside) and you are not able to bring these things inside the house. If you need storage for these things, I suggest you book at another Airbnb. **CHECK IN WINDOW: check in is from 7pm to 11pm. I am only able to offer earlier check in if the guest from the previous night checks out early. The checkout time is 4pm every day. If you need an earlier check in time, it would probably be best for you to find another listing **NOT IDEAL FOR CHILDREN: this area of the house includes equipment and sharp objects in the utility room. For safety reasons this is not a suitable option for children GUEST REQUIREMENTS TO BOOK: *STANDARD SIZE VEHICLE ONLY: I do offer onsite parking for one vehicle but guests must drive through a gate and it's only big enough for compact to standard sized cars, SUVs and trucks. The gate is 7.5 feet wide so your vehicle must be less than this (if you aren't sure you can Google). In addition, street parking is NOT permitted as that is for the neighbors. As a result, the following vehicles are prohibited here: Moving Vans and Moving Trucks, RVs, campers, trucks or SUVs towing a trailer or boat, extra wide or extra long trucks or SUVs, and tractor trailers. Standard size pickup trucks and SUVs are fine as long as you aren't towing anything (e.g. storage or moving trailer). If you have any of the prohibited vehicles described here, it would be best for you to book at another Airbnb. *FULLY VERIFIED: I only accept reservations from guests whose profile is fully verified with Airbnb for security reasons. If your profile has not been verified with Airbnb, you will need to complete that before booking *POSITIVE REVIEWS: I only accept guests with positive reviews. If you have a negative review, you will not be eligible to stay here *AT LEAST ONE PRIOR BOOKING COMPLETED: I require prior reviews to stay here. If you are new to Airbnb and do not have any reviews, you will not be eligible to stay here LISTING OVERVIEW: Brand new secluded basement space with private entrance in a peaceful neighborhood with lots of amenities! This property is a pearl silver certified and pepco energy star silver certified home for energy efficiency and is in the top 6% of homes in Maryland! These certifications are due to a new roof, new insulation, new energy-efficient windows, and all new energy-efficient appliances. Pictures of the certificates are included in the photos. The house is a short uber/lyft to the Forest Glen metro train station (1 mile away). Quick 15 minute drive to downtown silver spring and wheaton, and wheaton mall. Walking distance to sligo creek trail for great walking. Free onsite parking for two vehicles. My house is also a very short walk from a bus stop but the bus only operates during rush hour in the morning and evening. If you aren't able to take the bus, the metro station is a quick lyft/uber ride or you can drive to the Forest Glen metro station if you have a car (that train station has plenty of parking). LISTING AMENITIES: *Quiet, safe neighborhood in excellent location one mile from metro, 15 minutes drive to mall/shopping, walking distance to hiking/walking trail *Secure off street parking in back of the house for one vehicle *Motion-activated floodlights and other outdoor lighting for safety *Dedicated private entrance *Brand new kitchenette with coffee maker/kettle *Several windows in basement for lots of natural lighting *Huge emergency egress window in bedroom for safety also provides lots of natural lighting *Blackout curtain installed in bedroom *Entire basement ceiling soundproofed (extra layer of drywall added). Guests are not permitted to walk upstairs as other Airbnb guests occupy that space. The washer and dryer is available for a fee only and must be pre-paid. Other things to note *Check out is 4:00 PM every day *There is parking for one standard size vehicle only. You can't have someone else visit you here due to parking space limitations. *Guest Policy: Due to county regulations, only registered guests may enter the property. Visitors are not allowed and unregistered guests are not allowed *No smoking, vaping, weed or illegal drug use anywhere on the property, including outside. If you need to do these things, you should book elsewhere *Cooking is not permitted at this listing. If you need to cook (e.g. use an oven, stovetop or microwave) it would be best to book elsewhere. *During the day I may need to wash laundry. The washer and dryer are in the basement. If I need to wash laundry I will notify you in advance. I would wash laundry between 10AM to 8PM only. There are privacy curtains which section off the hallway to the laundry from your area so even if I enter to wash laundry we might not see each other but there would be potential for noise *No partying. * Maximum two guests per reservation *No animals due to my allergies, including service animals *No one under the age of 18 is allowed to stay here. This includes infants.
