Description
Welcome to 27 Timber Hill Broad Haven. A refurbished cedar lodge set amongst 130-acres of woodland within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Broad Haven beach and its adjacent pubs and restaurants are a 30 - 40 minute walk via farmland, woodland or coastal paths. The space Our cedar lodge has been redesigned to accommodate an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. To the rear of the kitchen area a small corridor separates the enlarged main bedroom (with a king-sized bed), a second bedroom (with a double bed fitted against a wall) a contemporary shower room and stairs leading up to a croft (nook) bedroom. Your stay includes access to free wi-fi, a 55” flat screen smart TV a small TV within the main bedroom (both of which are fitted with Amazon Firesticks) electric panel heating, hair dryer and an iron. The kitchen has a 2 ring induction hob, an oven/microwave, an integrated dishwasher, a full height fridge freezer, a hot tap for boiling water, and a separate kettle (for those fearful of hot taps), a sandwich maker, toaster and air fryer. To the front of the lodge the original decking has been removed and replaced with a larger cedar deck, from which you can enjoy views through the trees to farmland and the wooded valley beneath. 27 Timber Hill is one of the most secluded lodges on the site, positioned on an embankment between the upper and lower access tracks through the site. The advantage of its location is best appreciated sitting on the decking in the evening watching rabbits venturing out of their burrows, owls swooping down the embankment, and the numerous small birds that arrive to feed and nest within the trees, bushes and ferns that surround the lodge. The disadvantage of being without roadside access, is the 50 or so yard walk either up or down the grass embankment. Unfortunately due to the sloped access, this lodge is unsuitable for wheelchair users, or those that are not so stable on their feet. Please do not book this accommodation, if any of your party would struggle to navigate sloped surfaces. Guest access The site provides a number of facilities to enhance your stay in Pembrokeshire. These include a games room, separate shower block, laundrette and children’s play area. However, staying at Timber Hill is about enjoying nature and the great outdoors. The various footpaths within the grounds will take you through streams, woodland, farmland and up to a lake at the top of the site. The walk down to the large sandy beach at Broad Haven takes approximately 30 - 40 minutes. It’s a quicker route through the woodland, although somewhat more spectacular when descending on the coastal path. Along the beachfront at Broad Haven are two bistro pubs, a restaurant, fish and chip shop, café, convenience store and surf shop; just enough to sustain your holiday, but without drawing too many crowds. At low tide you can walk over to the neighbouring village of Little Haven, which provides further options for alfresco dining, or cosy fireside evenings within one of the three coastal pubs. Other things to note You can discover numerous beaches, coves, historic and maritime buildings walking the local coastal path, in addition to the numerous pubs and eateries along St. Brides bay. There are also a number of organised boat trips within the local area that take you around the many coves and rocky islands (skerries) dotted around the headland to spot dolphins, puffins, or maybe try your hand at fishing for sea bass or mackerel. Between May and October, the local 'Puffin' bus service, shuttles holiday makers to the many beaches, villages, historic sites and arts and crafts destinations along the Pembrokeshire coast. You can stop the bus on the coast road at the edge of the site, or walk down to Broadhaven. A 30 - 45 minute car journey will get you to most of the popular attractions and destinations Pembrokeshire has to offer, including: Tenby, Folly Farm, Saundersfoot, and St. David's 'city' & Cathedral. Further ideas with regards to day trip ideas are advertised within the leaflets available within the various pubs of Broad Haven and Little Haven.
