This small town getaway is within walking distance to good food, shopping, galleries and antiques. Also boasts great proximity to Green Mountains for hiking, biking, skiing, and is close to both Middlebury and Killington. The house itself was built during the 1930s and has much Depression Era charm. Kitchen, living and dining rooms, bath and master bedroom are on the main floor, as is a wonderful 3 season screen porch (our favorite place in the house). Two small but sweet bedrooms upstairs. This is a four season home, with a three season screened in porch which runs the length of the back of the house. There is both washer and dryer, and an old fashioned clothes line accessible from the porch. Our kitchen is fully equipped. There is no dishwasher. The downstairs bedroom has one queen size bed. There are two upstairs bedrooms, one with two twin beds, the other with a full size bed. Upstairs doorways are low so you may have to duck your head. The whole house is yours, except the basement level and a small secure space (attic room) for storage of our personal items. I don't live in Brandon, but I have a local property manager (Kelly) who can help in case of need. I can field most questions via text or email. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood setting, just a 5 minute walk from downtown Brandon, where you can enjoy food offerings ranging from pizza to French cuisine, a local brew at the downtown pub, or a pastry and a cappuccino. The Green Mountain National Forest, Brandon Gap and the Long Trail are less than eight miles away. Brandon is on Route 7, the main north/south state highway, with Burlington about 1 hour and 15 minutes north and Rutland about 25 minutes south. Middlebury is about 20 minutes away. Brandon is most easily accessed by car, but there is Amtrak service to Rutland and Burlington. Burlington, Rutland, Albany NY, Manchester NH, Boston MA and Montreal all are accessible by air and within a 3 and a half hour drive (or closer) to us. Guests may park in the driveway on the side or in the gravel parking spot in front of the house.
