Description
This "tiny house for 2" is the perfect hideaway on our favorite island: swim at sunrise on the small beach just a few steps away, sit for breakfast on the small terrace while the wind rustles through the palm trees. Then quickly grab your surfboard, bath towel or kiteboard and off into the water. After a wonderful day, then a rum punch as an aperitif and the catch of the day at the Surfers Bay Restaurant in the neighborhood. We love it. And you will too! The space The simple, small wooden house – called Little Green Tara (after the Indian deity) – is perfectly located: the sea in view and beaches for relaxing and water sports within walking distance. The house is lovingly decorated because we ourselves want to feel comfortable there. Pretty details are the built-in wooden shelves, the old Barbados photographs, the beautiful pillows on the daybeds and our Buddha watching over everyone in Little Green Tara. We love this house because it is something special and not a standard apartment like so many others. From the seating area in the lower room you can look at the sea just as from the newly built chill corner next to the house, which is shady, elevated and covered - seduction for hours of dreaming, reading, hanging out guaranteed! The house has everything you need: toaster, TV (with Netflix and Apple TV), smoothie maker, coffee maker, good Wi-Fi, hammock, even a longboard for rent and enough storage space for your water sports equipment. Mosquito nets are attached to all windows, but honestly: mosquitoes are part of Caribbean life, unless you want to live in fully air-conditioned rooms with closed windows. We love the cooling sea breeze in the evening and only use the air conditioning upstairs on particularly warm nights (like in July/August). A small shop for basic supplies (milk, bread, beer, etc.) is a 10-minute walk, the SURFERS BAY restaurant and bar are around the corner. Here you can find the best rum punches on the island (try the Bay Punch - that's Steve's specialty) and also the burger or the catch of the day are recommended. Really good bands play here once or twice a week, otherwise it is always very quiet, as the house is at the end of a dead end road. Guest access For those who like it comfortable, we recommend renting a car. The car can be parked a few meters around the corner. Otherwise, the connection with the mini buses is great. At the top of the church (7 minutes' walk) is the dollar taxi (because the ride usually costs no more than a dollar). Simply signal with a hand signal that you want to ride. You can also stop and get out at any time. Other things to note The property is not suitable for people with physical disabilities (such as walking disabilities), as the stairs up are relatively steep and without railings. Even very corpulent people could have difficulties with the stairs. The bed is a queen size bed.
