No details have been spared to ensure a unique and comfortable stay. The modern interior has been newly designed using locally sourced woods and materials. Come explore the quieter side of Kyoto in the Nishijin district where one can easily get lost walking through quaint neighborhoods and exploring local eateries, temples and parks. The space The modern and functional custom built interior has been newly designed using locally sourced woods and materials such as Hinoki, Kurumi and Sugi. The warmth of timber paired with the comfort of our tatami floors and luxury Simmons mattress will be sure to provide our guests with a relaxed stay after a day out in Kyoto. All the ceramics, tableware and bedding are custom made in Kyoto. We also have a fully stocked kitchen for days you would rather stay in and cook. The building also features a private gym on the lobby floor exclusive to guests staying at Kitano Soho. Floors 3 and 5 can also be booked for larger parties when available. We are located in the Nishijin neighborhood once famous for Kimono weaving and just south of Kamishichiken geisha district. The renowned Kitano Tenmangu shrine is just a block away and sites such as Kinkaku-ji temple and Nijo castle are in close proximity. Kitano Tenmangu has monthly flea markets on the 25th, an expansive plum garden and beautiful cherry blossom trees that bloom during the spring. Hirano shrine also famous for their cherry blossoms is hidden just behind the temple. Please note that in the morning and late afternoons the faint sound of drum led chanting can be heard. This sound is made by the venerable monks of Yuseiji temple during their daily meditation and prayers. We highly recommend visiting this temple during those times to experience this unique way of meditation and prayers in person.
