Unwind in your own private bathhouse & sauna along the creek after hiking/biking on Galbraith trails or exploring Bellingham. The fully equipped house includes a chef’s kitchen, high-end finishes, local art, and a blend of modern/vintage charm, making for a truly memorable stay. The space Totally secluded in nature, yet only...... 10 minutes from downtown Bellingham 6 minutes from Whole Foods & I-5 Direct access to Galbraith Trails (bike/hike in & out) 4 minutes from Lake Whatcom 3 minutes from Whatcom Falls Park This space is an idyllic adventure pad and/or healing retreat for a couple or individual, offering serene nature views from every window. Come to Bellingham and relax in your private sauna and cedar soaking tub surrounded by hand painted silk curtains and vine-maples. Enjoy amenities like reverse osmosis filtered water, a natural king-sized bed, an espresso machine, wood-burning stove, custom furniture, unscented soaps, and local artwork throughout. The luxe/artisy/rustic mid-century craftsman home sits at the end of a gravel drive, adjacent to Ted Edwards State Park. Inside, enjoy an open studio layout with modern appliances, custom oak finishes, and a wood stove. The partitioned king-sized bed offers privacy while maintaining an open, airy feel. Step outside to the cedar hot/cold tub, 4-person sauna, or enjoy meals at the picnic table with a charcoal grill and Ooni pizza oven. The surrounding forest is home to deer, owls, and birds. No TV, but fast WiFi, a Bluetooth speaker, and the perfect setting to relax and disconnect. Sleeps 1-2, with an optional full-length couch for an additional guest. Guest access The whole space/property is yours during your stay! Nobody else will be on the property nor have access to the sauna/bathhouse during your stay. No visible neighbours/houses can be seen from inside the house/most of the property. We hope you enjoy the privacy! Other things to note The original house was built in the '70s by Ted Edward, who, according to the story, hand-hauled many rounds of Nook-sack Riverstone in his VW van to the property and constructed the house stone by stone. The state park that borders the property was donated by Ted, making it feel almost like an extension of the land. You'll see how beautiful and unique the property is when you drive up the gravel road and find the stone house sitting above the park. In the 70’s Ted had a vision to build a community of natural and low cost houses in the neighbourhood, so if you take a walk around the park and neighbouring streets, you will likely notice other houses that look similar to this one! This house was Ted's personal home, and we felt that this little historic home sitting above the park deserved a full restoration. We have maintained many of the old rustic charms of the original house along with many new, modern & artistic finishes. The combination of old and new creates a unique and authentic vibe, which we hope you appreciate as much as we do! You will find many local artist featured in the home: Pottery, paintings, and sculpters. If you have questions about any of the art, please don't hesitate to message us!
