Fifth Quarter

Fifth Quarter is a lovely ground floor annexe, which is fully self contained, ideal for solo adventurers, couples or professionals. An excellent base for walkers, cyclists, golfers and for visiting family and friends and local historic sites. Within walking distance of East Grinstead's historic High Street where you will find a selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs. It is a few minutes drive from the Bluebell Heritage Steam Railway and the beautiful Ashdown Forest for country walks. The space Entire ground floor annexe in East Grinstead, designed with luxury and comfort in mind, with its own central heating and hot water system. Fifth Quarter is accessed from the driveway with its own separate gate and front door. It adjoins our garage and utility room. It comprises an entrance hall with coat rack, large fully fitted kitchen, modern shower room with power shower, double bedroom with king size (5’ wide) comfy bed and a large bright and airy lounge/dining room with high speed wifi throughout (48mbps). Free parking on driveway shared with the main house. We are next door in the main house and live a quiet life! The kitchen includes a fridge/freezer, electric fan oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, ample pots and pans, cutlery, crockery and plenty of worktop space, so no need to dine out every night! In the lounge/dining room there is a 42” terrestrial TV for you to relax in front of after a day out (remember to bring your log in details for Netflix and Amazon Prime). Or you can immerse yourself in the selection of board games and books that we provide. The bedroom consists of a very comfy king size bed (5’ wide) with choice of duvets and pillows and a range of fitted wardrobes and cupboards which includes a dressing table. There is a hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Bed linen and towels supplied. We have provided a table and 2 chairs for under cover outside seating, in a small private courtyard. We can provide locked storage for two bicycles in our garage – please let us know in advance so that we can clear a space! Awaiting your arrival will be tea, coffee, sugar, milk, soap, shampoo, porridge/cereal for your first breakfast plus a few extras. Check in time is from 3pm and check out time is by 11am. There are 2 steps up to the front door from the covered over courtyard. Inside the property there is a small step (2”) down from the hall into the shower room and a small step (3”) down from the hall into the kitchen. And with this in mind, the property is not suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or people with limited mobility. The mobile phone signal is very good (we can actually see the Vodafone and EE mast in the distance). Strictly no smoking, vaping or E-cigs inside the property. But you can do all three in the covered over area outside if you wish. This is a fully equipped and comfortable place to stay and perfect for alternative accommodation whilst you’re having work done on your own home. It is suitable for a maximum of 2 people. We are on hand in the main house for your convenience. East Grinstead is most famous for its historic High Street which remains largely in its original form. There are 19 timber framed houses dating from the 14th and 15th centuries, with another 13 from Tudor and Stewart periods, giving us the unique heritage of an almost unbroken line of these lovely buildings, some of which have been inhabited for over 650 years. East Grinstead is home to a cinema and an excellent local theatre. We are just a short drive away from local vineyards, numerous National Trust sites, Hever Castle, and Weirwood Reservoir, where birdwatchers can visit the bird hide to observe a variety of birds, while others may enjoy yachting, canoeing, and open water swimming. Guest access You have exclusive use of the entire annexe and outside covered over seating area at the front of the property during your stay. No access is available to the rear or front gardens.
