A Hobbits Retreat
A Hobbits Retreat
Description
Fans of The Hobbit will delight in the whimsy and creativity that encapsulate this small but spacious home. Guests will find a quiet space with extensive outdoor living, including a private deck and yard. The home boasts a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, and ample closet space to make your stay comfortable. The space Enter through a round door, reminiscent of the homes of Hobbiton, into a spacious central living room. This work of art was built on site from logs once used to float boat houses on Idaho’s Lake Chatcolet. Off the livingroom, through a set of French pocket doors you will find the main bedroom, containing a king sized bed. The handcrafted silver maple headboard was sourced from a downed tree grown directly across the street. The rear bedroom boasts a queen bed with views out the sliding glass door onto the patio and backyard. A cozy bathroom contains a clawfoot tub, circa 1916, salvaged from a farmhouse in Weippe, Idaho. The kitchen has been fully remodeled by Renaissance Fine Woodworking, taking into account the small space and maximizing its functionality. Some of the kitchen amenities include a dishwasher, range, microwave, coffee maker, as well as a washer and dryer. As with other aspects of the home, the cabinets tell their story. They are crafted from black walnut, slowly collected over the years from local homesteads of the Palouse. Guest access Guests have full access to the front and backyard, including both decks and rear patio. The driveway is available for parking, as well as street parking if needed. Other things to note This neighborhood is generally quiet and does contain families. We ask that guests respect quiet hours.
