Description
Set among rolling hills overlooking a wildlife pond, Banjo’s Cabin Gippsland offers a relaxed escape in Central Gippsland. Wake to sunny mornings at your outdoor brekkie bar, wander bush trails to nearby water holes or explore historic country towns. Enjoy Tinamba’s renowned dining, visit local wineries and breweries or settle into friendly country pubs. As evening falls, return for sunset drinks on the deck, spotting kangaroos as festoon lights reflect on the water beneath wide, starry skies. The space Step into this Hamptons-inspired hideaway featuring soaring raked ceilings, French doors, and a bright, airy interior. Stay comfortable with the ceiling fan or split system, then unwind with the 55” Smart TV after a day outdoors. The kitchenette includes an electric cooktop, slow cooker, toaster, kettle, microwave, coffee pod machine, and ceramic water filter—ideal for relaxed meals and alfresco dining. Optional tasting platters and additional guest services are available by request at an additional cost and are popular for birthdays, anniversaries, or romantic getaways. Sleep deeply in the luxe king bed with premium linens, and refresh in the ensuite with fluffy towels, robes, complimentary slippers, and goat milk soap. Outside, wander through the emerging food forest, meet friendly Babydoll and Suffolk sheep, and admire the Appaloosa Mini Harlequin flock grazing nearby. Around the pond and pollinator gardens, new plantings are establishing to create future habitat and a seasonal pick-your-own experience. At dusk, enjoy ‘pink hour’ as kangaroos, cattle, and horses graze across the valley with sweeping views toward the high country. Heyfield is just 10 minutes away, offering a welcoming country pub, IGA, fuel, and essentials. Larger regional centres including Sale and Traralgon are around 25 minutes away, with charming towns such as Maffra, Briagolong, Rosedale, Tinamba, and Cowwarr nearby. Guest access Guests can enjoy access to our 9-acre working Greenstead, including paddocks and shared outdoor areas. Two additional accommodations are located on the property, each positioned over 100 metres from the cabin. As we live on site and care for the land and animals, you may occasionally see us moving around the property or carrying out light maintenance such as mowing. We’re always mindful of timing and give guests ample space to enjoy their stay. Self check-in via lockbox makes arrival easy, with a dedicated parking space located beside the cabin. Other things to note Banjo’s Cabin Gippsland welcomes couples or solo travellers aged 20 years and over due to the presence of an unfenced dam and other rural features. The indoor fireplace is available between May and September by prior arrangement and attracts a $25 fee per bag, which includes firewood and kindling. Fireplace use is subject to weather conditions and local restrictions, and only firewood supplied by us may be used. Fires must be fully extinguished after use and nothing must be placed on the fireplace during use. For safety reasons, swimming in the dam, bringing personal fire pits, BBQs or outdoor cooking equipment, lighting fires anywhere on the property, using candles or open flames, or operating drones is not permitted. The property isn’t suitable for parties, events, or visitors. Smoking or vaping isn’t permitted indoors, and pets aren’t able to be accommodated.
